Theodore and Seraphine walk down the streets, everyone looking at them. They are now in district 0, the district is filled with tech companies ready for new investors. Theodore arrives in front of a huge building, on top of it it's a sign. 'Medical center and robotics.'
They enter the building and are greeted by a man, dressed in a black suit. He has a name plate on it. 'Decon S. Hutson.' "Good afternoon, do you have an appointment?" Theodore looks at Seraphine and back at Decon. "No, I actually came here to get an appointment, and information over how bionics are doing, as you can see my arm is missing."
The man opens something on his desktop. "Name, age and sex?" "Theodore, Bloodhearth, age 16, male" The man looks at Theodore, and types something hastily on his keyboard, he opens his mouth and widens his eyes. "Excuse me my lord, I didn't know who you are." Theodore gives a humble smile. "It's alright, just tell me when the doc is free." Theodore hovers his phone over a tele handbook.
"Here is my number" He puts his phone back in his pocket and prepares to leave, he turns around and starts moving. "You can come now my lord." Theodore looks at the man. "I don't want to interrupt the other patients." He leaves the building.
Seraphine looked confused. Outside the building she pats him on the shoulder.
"Why are we here?" Theodore sighs. "I tried to get on a list to get myself a cybernetic arm. In two years no success." He gives a heavy sigh and moves forward on the street towards the castle. "We are heading home Seraphine" She stops him.
"Why are you not getting in, they said it's fine." Theodore turns to her and looks dead into her eyes.
"Seraphine." He sighs, he places his hands on her shoulders. "They are gonna put me in place of someone that needs that arm more than me. I don't want to use my influence for my gains." He moves 2 steps back. "I understand…"
They look at one another for a few seconds. "Let's go" They now walk the pavement, both silent. Theodore gives a heavy sigh, looking at Seraphine. "What? Is there something wrong?" Theodore smiles and shakes his head.
Theodore grabs his phone and calls Hunter. "I wonder what's happening with my uncle." Someone picks up. "Theodore, what happened to my father?" Theodore is surprised. "It's complicated, I don't know what happened, is it bad?" Theodore asked,
"NO HE IS BLIND!" She shouts, the phone wasn't on speaker and everyone around Theodore could hear it.
"Ask him!" Theodore replied. "He doesn't answer my question, but apparently wants me to become lady, he wants to retire" "Welcome to the club." Milena gives sighs. "So when you and Lancer come visit?" Theodore hangs up. "Let's hurry, it's gonna go dark outside."
Walking towards the castle, they are still silent. A visible frustration appears on Theodore's face, Seraphine notices and tries to look at him better. Theodore moves his face towards the street, mostly empty, no moving cars, except the occasional passing of the public transport vehicles. "Did I say something?" Theodore shakes his head. His pace now has more haste, he dashes nearly leaving Seraphine behind.
"Wait for me!" Theodore started running. "You don't want this Theo!" Seraphine starts running, she moves like a superhuman athlete, dashing and catching up to Theodore. She jumps on him and both fall to the ground, both getting hurt. "Why did you run? Why?" Everyone on the street looks at them. Theodore sighs and pushes Seraphine off him.
Seraphine helps Theodore up from the pavement. "Why did you run?" Theodore looks at everyone else on the street. "We don't talk about that here… " He had a few visual scratches on the jacket. He cleans himself as well as he can. The castle was 100 meters away from them. "I'll tell you inside."
They move inside. The servants and guards inside place their hands on their chest near the heart and say. "Welcome back our king!" They say with perfect synchronization. Theodore gives a false smile, "Thank you, I am not a king yet, but thank you." He leans forward, bowing his head. "I respect you for respecting me."
He straights up his position and goes towards the elevator, the doors open. He sees guardian E. in the elevator. "What are you doing?" guardian E. shrugs. "I am everywhere and nowhere. Up?" Seraphine and Theodore get in the Elevator. He presses the top button indicating floor 45, the king's personal space.
"Are you gonna tell me now?" Theodore shakes his head. "E. Have you followed me?" She chuckled. "You noticed?" Theodore looks at her. "If I noticed you, you would've been fired." The elevator reaches floor 45. The three exit the elevator.
Theodore moves towards the king's study. Seraphine walks behind him like a stalker.
"Is it that bad?" Said guardian E. Seraphine shrugs. "He was like this from when we left the medical center." They arrive in the study. "E. Place the joy killer on the table and activate it." guardian E. grabs a device looking like an old mp3 device and presses the button in the middle. "Why do you want us to not be heard by anyone? What is happening?"
"I don't like people hearing me talk about my insecurities. The Bloodhearth family is in a bad state, we might have another funeral after my father, Hunter, let's say he is the most trusted person I know. He is going to retire." Guardian E looks at Seraphine and back to Theodore. "And?" Theodore unbuttons his jacket and takes it off, placing it on a chair. He sits and grabs a notebook and slides it on the table.
"Read it, first few pages and you'll understand." Guardian E, starts reading the notebook. Sreaphine looking over her shoulder. 'Plan of eradicating the strongest human clan on Teris, Bloohearth.' They scroll to the notebook, and see plans for every member of Theodore's clan and how they will die. Theodore's death was supposed to be 2 years ago, killed by the laser cannon that took his hand.
"This doesn't explain why you rushed us here." Theodore brings underneath the table a file, it had on top of it the picture of Duncan from the medical center.
"This guy ain't working there. He is a professional assassin" Both women look through the files and see numerous aliases and services this man offered.
"I already had an appointment there, this man said I didn't and thought of me as an egoist man that will go over someone else. He wanted to kill me there." Theodore shakes his head. "Look page 10" The flip pages to page 10, where a plan is written to activate a god stone to curse the Bloodhearths. "This says it happened 16 years ago. But your being killed by a laser wasn't going to happen till 14 years later."
"Last page will show you something." The reach the last pages and see the notebook is written by a woman called Vangha. "Vangha is the witch that my grandfather alway went to, it is said she can tell the future, and what is written here proves it."
Seraphine shakes her head. "But how are you still alive, weren't you supposed to be dead?" Theodore laughs and grabs from his inner pocket the sigil his father gave him of the Goddess of victory. "One page back."
Guardian E goes one page back. "Read it out loud." "If you can't succeed killing the most dangerous member of the Bloodhearts, he is going only to become stronger with every attempt, the curse will blew away, and the gods will land you no mercy, that man, Theodore Bloodhearth, son of Michel and Mariah Bloodhearth, a child half human half servant. The only man gods will side with when none will."
The women look at eachother scared. "They fucked up twice, and I've grown stronger, and the curse, blew away towards Hunter, now being blind and death probably at his door." Theodore places the sigil he has in hand on the table.
"I have had this since I was a child, I wear it like a magic charm, but now I think it's more to it." Seraphine backs away from it, she looks terrified. "It does have more to it doesn't it?"
"Put that thing away Theo." Said seraphine looking like she saw a ghost. Theodore takes it and places it back where it belongs. "I want you two to defend me, someone is still after me." "OK, back off a bit, how did you manage to get the notebook?"
"The notebook? It was in the bookshelf on your right. In one day I clean it up of information, mostly useless ones, but the notebook is important, there are 15 assassinations planned from me with exact dates, two I escaped. Study them all and prepare to defend me." Theodore gets up and turns off the device. "See you tomorrow, same hour, no visitors."
