Once Michiru was back with his family, Edgar brought Arthur to a small office where they could talk in private.
Arthur waited for him to sit before sitting himself.
Edgar sighed. "If you leave the Liberators, do you have a place to stay?"
Arthur nodded. "I can stay with my son and his mom."
Edgar raised his eyebrows. "Not your wife?"
"I've never remarried."
"Pardon me," Edgar said, "but what happened to your wife?"
Arthur clenched his fists. "Morderu stole her away from me, along with our only daughter."
"I can't imagine what that must have been like."
Of course not.
"I will let you retrieve your things and submit resignation letters," Edgar said. "I will need to hold your sister as collateral in the meantime, however."
"I understand." Arthur took a knee. "Thank you for your generosity."
Edgar took out some parchment. "Get going."
