The moon was in the sky when Maggie stepped out into her family's backyard. She sat down on the wooden bench, staring at the moon until the sliding door creaked open.
She gasped. "Blake?"
He had a large box in his hands as he sat down beside her.
"What do you have there?"
Blake opened the box. A sizzling kezzla sat inside.
Maggie's cheeks turned red as she chuckled. "You really do spoil me; you know that?"
The sliding glass door creaked open again.
"Is that a kezzla I smell?" Ev's mouth watered.
Nosy little brat...
Blake laughed as he handed the box over, but not before removing a pair of slices.
"Remember, one slice for everyone!" Maggie yelled as Ev ran off. She sighed. Hopefully, he didn't eat the whole thing.
Blake held out a slice of kezzla he had plated. "It sure was nice seeing Cy again." Blake leaned in. "So, have you made up?"
"Not exactly..."
