Chapter 1 - Chapter One

"Trrrrr" The alarm screamed trying to wake me. "Trrrrr" It screamed again, at this point, I was frustrated and had to shut its mouth. I hate to be disturbed when sleeping. I still didn't understand why Mom had to get me an alarm, knowing fully well that I was a great sleeper.

The door to my bedroom opened and someone got in and went to open my window, making the rays of the morning sun reflect into my room.

" And what are you still doing in bed at this time, Susan?" Mother asked as I lay still in my bed. "Young lady, will you get up from there now or?…" She trailed off, and I knew exactly what that meant.

I quickly stood up from my bed, murmured a greeting, and went into my bathroom to take my bath.

After taking my bath, I came out of the bathroom. I was surprised to find my uniform on my bed. I rushed to it, blue? Argh. I don't want it. I don't like blue. How can I wash the uniform? I put on the uniform and saw that the skirt was above my knee, and the blazer was okay, fitted. The only problem I have with the uniform is that I don't like the color and the skirt is short.

I wear short skirts, but this is more than short for me. To make matters worse, it's my uniform. The school's uniform. This will give many boys the privilege to see the pants girls were wearing. I cried at my fate. I took my bag and walked out of the h

"No darling" I replied and gave him a mocking smile. " I'm going to the back of the school," I said and returned the funny face he had given me before taking my seat. He was still staring at me.

" What is it? Why have you been staring at me?" I hated how he was gawking at me, was he looking for what to say again? Something to spoil my mood!

" Are you going to school to seduce the boys there?" He asked.

" Spoiled brat" I hissed at him.

" Let me tell you something Suzy" he started and shifted on his seat. " You are an ugly thing," he said and I gasped. So harsh with his words! I hate him.

" You can't seduce anyone in that uniform. Any guy who falls for your stupid seduction… I bet he's going to be as ugly as you are. So don't bother stressing yourself in seducing any guy. You're so ugly" he said and gave me the most annoying face. I felt like crying, but I couldn't cry, not when he was here.

I stood up from my seat and backed my bag. " I'm off to school, tell mom I'm not hungry," I said and walked away.

" Should I take your breakfast?" I heard him yell but ignored him. I came out of the apartment.

The morning breeze greeted me as soon as I came out of our apartment, i gripped the hand of my bag tightly and exhaled, the weather was chilling but I love it.

I checked at my wrist watch and gasped loudly, it was already 7:00am, I was late! I moved away from our door, heading to the park, I needed to get the first bus if I wanted to get the first bus.

I almost cried when I got to the park, there was no bus which meant that I would have to wait until a bus comes, and waiting, meant that I would reach school by 10:00am, I cracked my brain for a solution.

Then I remembered that mom had once told me the location of the school, I calculated the amount of time that could take me to the school, it should not be more than thirty minutes.

"We can do this!" I said to myself with determination, at least I could save the money mom had given me. Smiling to myself, I closed my eyes tightly like an athlete who was determined to win a race. I counted to three, then started running.

I ran without stopping to take a breath, all thanks to queen college, they turned me into a race car. I was the best runner in my school, I'm sure they must be feeling the pain of expelling me!

Finally, I was at the school's gate, I stared at the size of the school and smiled to myself. It was much bigger and larger than Queen's highschool, I wonder how much mom must have paid for me to attend this prestigious school.

I stared at the school in amazement, it was so….oh my gosh. It was a four-story building and was also painted in blue and white. The windows were made of glass, and the school's compound was so broad. I bet it could contain more than a hundred people.

I promised myself to take pictures in the school and upload it on my Instagram account, I was sure my former classmates would be jealous of my new school,

Just then I heard a voice behind me, when I turned to my back, I found an old man standing with two bags which looked heavy. My heart was moved and I felt pity for him.

"Won't you go in?" He as, I smiled and shook my head. "Why?" He asked.

"Can I help you take your bag to where you're going?" I asked, he shook his head in disagreement.

"Go in young Miss, you're late," He reminded and I smiled at him.

"It's alright man, it's not like I'll be punished or something, I'm a new student," I replied, the old man didn't seem satisfied with my response.

"Because you're a new student, you think you can come to school anytime you like?"He asked.

"Don't you need help with your load?" I asked,

"I do," He replied, i checked my wrist watch to check what the time was, i was really late for class. I couldn't let the old man carry his heavy load himself.

"Then let me help you," I insisted but he shook his head and started walking away. Just then, I caught sight of a cab coming, an idea popped into my head and I smiled brightly.

I stopped the car before it could pass me, I sneakily snatched the old man's heavy bag and took it to the cab.

"Take a cab home, old man," I said and gave the driver fifty bucks. The old man stared at me in surprise.

"You can go home without stressing yourself Old man," I said and dashed into the school.
