I was running fast along the hallway, the school's hallway was large… The stairs were so long, I was still running when I accidentally bumped into a male student.
" I'm sorry" I said and was about to continue my race, when he held me by my collar. uh, uh, another problem! Just who's he? Didn't he hear me apologize?!
" You are late" I heard him say, his tone was hard and arrogant. I raised my head and looked at him.
I was mesmerized by his beauty. How can a guy have such beauty? Tall, dark hair, sharp mouth, straight nose… I just stood there looking at the guy.
" You are late" he repeated, and I came out of my daze.
" Uhm…I was ... .it's not my fault" I stammered, his face looked a bit scary. He wasn't even smiling, he looked scary.
" Hmm. Then whose fault?" He asked and I laughed. My tone was shaky, and my legs were disappointing me. I couldn't think of any reasonable excuse at that moment.
" The weather of course" I replied with a smile, he didn't smile back.
" Weather you say?" He asked and I nodded. " What type of weather?" He asked again, and I was caught off guard. What should I say now? I bit my lips, I was thinking hard on what to say.
" The rainy weather" I blurted. My reply was stupid and I know, but I don't care. He brought out a little book from his chest pocket.
"What is your name?"
" Susan. Susan Wiggs" I replied, he was scribbling something on his note and I used that as an opportunity to escape.
I ran as fast as my legs could carry me, I didn't dare look back. And thankfully, he didn't call me. I was getting near my class, when I caught sight of a male teacher. Another problem. I wanted to turn back, but the teacher had seen me.
" Where do you think you are going?" He asked, and I raised my right foot in a tip-toe way and opened my mouth. I raised my hands up, surrendering myself. I looked at the teacher and faked a smile at me, deep inside me, I was crying.
" Of course, my class of course" I replied.
" Which class?" He asked again.
" Science class sir" I replied.
" This is it," he said and I smiled. " Are you new here?"
"Yes sir"
" Oh my goodness, you must have had a hard time finding your way" he exclaimed and laughed, I also laughed. He stopped laughing and frowned. " Why are you laughing, new student?"
"Nothing sir" I replied and faked a serious face.
" Come in with me" he said and walked into the class. I followed him.
" Good morning class" he greeted, and the students stood up. There weren't many. I counted them. Just thirteen of them. Six girls and seven guys. I noticed a familiar face. I couldn't see it well because his face was blocked.
" Good morning Mr. Stephen" they greeted in unison.
" We have a new student here in our class" he said, referring to me. " Miss… please come and introduce yourself" he said and I walked over to him.
" Good morning class" I greeted. They answered. " My name is Susan Wiggs, and I am your new classmate. My former school was Queen's college. Meant for only girls. I hope to have a peaceful and blissful time with you all. Thank you" I said and bowed my head. They clapped for me and I smiled.
" I am Johnny Johnson" a guy started.
"Elena Carlson.
"Evenly Jones"
" Allison Smith at your service my lady" a boy with ruddy hair said and bowed, making the students laugh.
"Augustine Smith '' I could easily guess that he was Allison's twin brother because there was a similarity between them. The rest were saying their names and now, there were two remaining students. A male and female.
"Edmond Cole" the guy said and I gasped inwardly, isn't he the same guy I met on my way here? How did he get here so fast?
"Charlotte Lewis" the girl said with a proud look on her face, I hate proud people. " Is Wiggs a surname?" She asked and the students laughed. I wasn't embarrassed, instead I was happy she had asked.
" No, it's a title" I replied, and the students erupted into another round of laughter.
" Don't you think that title is what people that don't have hair wear on their head?" She asked again, I was beginning to enjoy this.
" Because you can't spell it. Mind me spelling it for you?" I asked, and the students shouted yes. " Well Miss Charlotte…my surname is spelled as W-I-G-G-S" I said.
" But it sounds stupid" she said. The students didn't laugh this time. I was furious. How could she insult my surname?
"Truth to be told. When I first heard your surname. I thought you said Lewd. Charlotte Lewd." I said and smirked.
" How dare you?" She screeched.
" I was also thinking if you are really Lewd Miss Charlotte" I added. She wanted to say something, but Mr. Stephen spoke.
" Tell us why you left your previous school" he said. I hate this question.
" Because I beat the school's president's daughter" I replied and the students laughed.
" Seems you love fighting," Allison said, and they continued to laugh. I didn't see anything funny in what I said.
" I give it to those that deserve it" I looked at the angry Charlotte. " And mind you Miss Charlotte, don't think you can bully me because I am a new student here, doesn't make you superior over me. I deal with those who come asking for my trouble. I always give them in ten folds. So if you are thinking about doing anything stupid..... better don't do it" the students clapped for me.
" Such a brave girl," Allison said again. " Come Seat beside me" he offered the empty seat beside him. I caught it until I got to the seat. The boys were shouting. This class is really noisy, and I like it. I sat down and smiled at Allison. He smiled back at me.
"So let's start our class for today" Mr. Stephen's voice roared loudly, and the class erupted into another round of laughter.
"I love your vibes" Allison whispered and Susan smiled. "If you and Charlotte have a little misunderstanding, and it breaks into a fight, would you be able to beat her?" He asked and she scoffed.
"She's just a little chicken I can easily deal with,"
"You are not sure," Allison said.
"Can she fight? I was the best fighter in my former school, do you think that fragile Charlotte can withstand me?" I asked in a proud tone.
