The scene continues as Logan, after commandeering a car, heads towards the "Xavier School for Gifted Teens." The drive itself is skipped over.
Upon reaching the school, Logan engages in a battle with Hank, also known as the Beast, and eventually meets Professor Xavier. He recounts the future's tragic tale of mutants being hunted by sentinels, nearing extinction. Logan seeks the professor's help, emphasizing the need for assistance from Magneto to alter the future of mutants.
The narrative shifts from recorded images to real-time events, transmitted through Logan's watch. As Logan and others mobilize to rescue Magneto, Ivan, aware of the upcoming events, decides there's no need to watch further.
"Red Queen, monitor Logan's every move diligently. Mobilize all available resources and detect any changes in Logan's magnetic field. He seems to be traveling through dimensions rather than time. I plan to explore the mysteries of parallel dimensions."
"Understood, Dr. Ivan. But why not bring Mr. Logan back directly? Wouldn't that be more convenient for our study? Although he wears a detection device on his hand, the equipment is quite rudimentary and prone to errors. I believe it's better to seize Mr. Logan directly."
Ivan dismisses the Red Queen's suggestion, knowing the plot's future development. To study the two distinct parallel dimensions, he must locate their connection point. The current connection point was Logan, maintained by Kitty Pryde's shuttle ability, but it's weak. The connection becomes clearer when Logan is most active.
Later when Logan and the group rescue Magneto, they will encounter Mystique and later confront Colonel Stryker, causing emotional turmoil for Logan. Ivan knew that was the opportune moment, to leverage Kitty Pryde's ability during Logan's heightened activity.
"Just keep an eye on them. This is our chance to rescue Magneto. After being imprisoned for so long, I hope Magneto has gained some wisdom and isn't as impulsive as before."
Firm in his decision, Ivan instructs the Red Queen, who complied. Additionally, Ivan requests the Red Queen to send a few messages.
In a mutant fraternity base in the UK, the Red Devil, playing with a blue-skinned mutant child, hears a sudden sound from his wristwatch. He sets down the little blue one, named Nathan, explaining that he has something to attend to. The blue-skinned mutant, Mystique's son, also known as the Blue Devil understands and turns away with his bear toy.
The Red Devil and Mystique's union, leading to the birth of Nathan the Blue Devil, owes its existence to Ivan's influence in the broader narrative.
At the time, Ivan emphasized the importance of protecting Mystique due to her unique genes and that she shouldn't fall into the wrong hands. Throughout their journey with Magneto, the Red Devil took meticulous care of Mystique, even saving her life on multiple occasions.
In a particularly perilous situation, the Red Devil risked his life and sustained serious injuries to use his supernatural powers. He created a spatial opening to whisk Mystique away, showcasing a heroic act that deeply moved her. The heroic rescue sparked affection between the two, and despite not being married, Mystique's decision to bear a child for the Red Devil spoke volumes about their bond.
Upon receiving Ivan's message, the Red Devil quickly considered the direction and ran to a mysterious room, where a person sat in a chair.
"Azazel, you also received Ivan's message. What are your thoughts on this matter?" The man in the chair looked up at the Red Devil and inquired.
Despite the dim lighting, the man's identity was clear. If Magneto were present, he'd surely be shocked, for the man was none other than the Black King, Shaw, whom Magneto had killed—Ivan's father.
"I believe Eric should be rescued after being imprisoned for so long. However, his aggression needs to be curbed. If what Logan said is true, we must find a way to prevent Mystique's assassination attempt on Trask. Leave that to me; I'll talk to her," suggested the Red Devil.
Shaw regarded the Red Devil with a subtle smile. "I didn't expect you to show such benevolence. Nevertheless, it's understandable, considering she's the mother of your son. However, you should be aware of Raven's character. She's not one to heed the advice. Otherwise, she wouldn't have separated from you and embarked on the challenging path of advocating for mutants independently. Even if you find her, she won't easily return with you."
A look of concern appeared on the Red Devil's face. "But..."
"I understand your concerns, but they're unnecessary. Raven excels in adapting her abilities, and she won't be caught easily. Besides, didn't you give her a watch? If she's truly in danger, you'll sense it, teleport to her location, and be prepared to respond at any time during this period."
"But what about Eric? If there's a special situation, like both sides being in danger simultaneously, I might not be able to intervene in time. I'm afraid I won't be able to save them."
"That's true," Shaw contemplated for a moment, pressed a button nearby, and summoned three individuals—White Queen, Riptide, and Angel. All three sported watches on their left wrists, identical to the Red Devil's, with the ability to change shape and color at will for camouflage. In the current situation, maintaining their original appearance sufficed.
All three had experienced death but were resurrected by Ivan's rebirth cradle. Ordinarily, they should have either remained on Skull Island or had their memories wiped for new identities. However, Shaw intervened, preserving their memories and bringing them back to work with him. Initially betraying Shaw for Magneto, they were initially terrified upon seeing him, thinking they were dead. Fortunately, Shaw showed no concern about their prior switch of allegiance, putting them at ease. Grateful, they wholeheartedly surrendered to Shaw and committed to serving him.
Addressing the quartet, Shaw instructed them to stay together during this period. In case of an emergency, Azazel, using his supernatural powers, would teleport them directly to safety. Two key directives were emphasized: concealing their identities and following Azazel's commands. White Queen, Riptide, and Angel all nodded in agreement, recognizing their past shortcomings and the need for humility.
Red Devil, with his developed abilities, became their de facto leader. Aware of Ivan's influence, they respected Red Devil as one of Ivan's most trusted individuals. Though obeying the Red Devil's commands under Shaw's directive, there was a subtle acknowledgment of Ivan's influence.
With Shaw's decision made, Red Devil had no choice but to follow. However, he couldn't shake concerns about Mystique's safety. Nevertheless, the prospect of Mystique's resurrection provided some comfort, offering hope for an unforeseen turnaround.
Meanwhile, Logan's party followed the original plot, locating Quicksilver and infiltrating the Pentagon's underground to rescue Magneto. Quicksilver and Magneto, unaware of their father-son relationship, missed the chance to recognize each other.
Upon meeting the Logan, Magneto, and Xavier engaged in a heated dispute, eventually boarding a plane to find Mystique. During the flight, Magneto, upon learning about Logan's time-travel origins and the future plight of mutants, expressed indignation. While maintaining a calm exterior, he secretly plotted.
Magneto observed Logan's watch, remarking on its unusual nature. Logan, realizing its peculiarity, hadn't paid much attention to it before. Magneto suggested removing the watch, and although he couldn't control it, he could cut it open. Despite the potential discomfort, Logan agreed, and Magneto swiftly manipulated a piece of metal to cut open the watch.
