Chereads / Demon devouring sins / Chapter 2 - Chapter 2

Chapter 2 - Chapter 2

Lox wandered through the dark forest like an invisible ghost, surrounded by dense darkness and a mystical atmosphere.

The crowns of the trees covered the sky, making it even more dark and mysterious.

The moon occasionally broke through the thick forest cover, but its light was pale and dim, creating eerie shadows on the ground.

Rustles and sounds of nightlife filled the air, adding an extra mystery to the surroundings.

It was as if the air was saturated with secrets and mysteries held among the ancient trees and dense vegetation.

Lox penetrated through the trees and shrubs, barely touching their leaves and branches. His invisible form allowed him to maneuver around obstacles as if making his own path in this mysterious forest.

He enjoyed this gloomy atmosphere, it seemed familiar and cozy to him.

"My atmosphere," thought Lox, feeling at home in this place where others could only feel terror.

Under the moonlight, he noticed shadows that seemed alive and moving, as if the world around him was drawing him into its dark entanglements.

It was a scene that Lox wanted to memorize, to remember it when he felt lost and hazy.

Every rustle, every creak of the branches, and every sigh of the night seemed to him the melody of his own soul.

He watched the flying owls, the timid hares and the sparkling lights of fireflies, feeling his attachment to this dark forest, to its riddles and mysteries.

It had been a week since Lox had found himself in this world full of mystery and danger. Despite his demonic nature and the knowledge he had gained, he was not unfazed by the new challenges.

His skill and cunning helped him hide and avoid danger, but he also realized that his demonic soul was vulnerable to the sun's rays.

Every time the sun rose above the horizon, Lox felt an unpleasant burning sensation and weakness.

His demonic essence felt fear of the light, and he knew that for him, the sun had become a powerful adversary.

At this point, Lox hid in dark and sheltered places based on his instinct for self-preservation.

He avoided bright light so he wouldn't be vulnerable and lose his power and abilities.

When the sun went down, he would reappear from the shadows and his demonic essence would come alive again. He continued his quest to gain a body and find a way to exact his revenge.

Lox realized that every day in this world was a test.

He had to be vigilant and careful not to fall into a trap or let his weakness control him.

So he sought ways, explored the world around him, and gradually expanded his knowledge and skills.

He interacted with different beings and creatures to learn more about how this world functioned.

Lox soon discovered that he could sense when the sun was beginning to set over the horizon, and this gave him a warning of danger.

It allowed him to organize his movements and plans to avoid colliding with the light.

Thus, a week passed in his new world, full of challenges and mysteries.

It had only been a week and he had already realized that he possessed the ability to absorb souls.

It was something amazing and powerful that added to his confidence and strength.

On his fifth day in this world, Lox came across a dying deer.

The animal was injured and weak, its life force fading.

The deer's suffering and dying became a source of lure for Lox - he knew that the soul leaving the body at the moment of death could be absorbed into it, giving him new knowledge and strength.

Carefully approaching the dying deer, Lox touched its body with his demonic mind.

The mysterious influence of his soul began to attract part of the departing deer's soul. The energy and knowledge he received felt magical, as if he had the ability to absorb the essences and knowledge of other beings.

And so he received his first percentage of knowledge -

[Knowledge: 1%].

This process was special and important to him. He realized that knowledge could play a critical role in this world.

Perhaps it was the key to realizing his true purpose.

Thus, knowledge became for Lox an integral aspect of his new life in this world.

Or did that mean he was just dumb and getting knowledge.

- Why don't you not go that far? - came a feminine, minty voice.

Lox moved closer to where the girl's minty voice was coming from.

He was intrigued by her presence and wanted to hear what she was talking about with her black cat.

The girl, with dark hair and wearing a black suit, stood in a clearing in the forest.

Her long hat with mysterious patterns gave her a mysterious look, as if she was from another world.

A black cat was jumping beside her, trying to catch a butterfly with passion.

- Don't go far away, my little friend," said the girl, her voice gentle and caring.

- Don't you want to play with me a little more?

The cat continued to play, darting after the butterfly, and it seemed that he paid little attention to the words of his mistress.

- You are so stubborn," the girl said with a slight smile.

- But I like your independence.

Lox watched this picture, his interest in the girl and the cat growing by the minute.

He was surprised to hear a woman's voice, because in all his life in the demon world he had never met a living human.

Suddenly Lox realized that the girl probably had her own physical shell that he could absorb, but mixed feelings stopped him.

He had never done anything like this before, and he had doubts and fear of what might happen.

"What am I doing?" - Lox thought, hesitating.

His uncertainty grew with each passing second, and he decided not to consume the girl's body.

He thought of finding another way to gain physical form and strength, but without losing his essence.

Lox having a strange feeling, he tried to inhabit the body of a black cat. He knew it could be dangerous, but the desire to gain a physical shell and become visible again motivated him to take the risk.

As the cat fled into the bushes, Lox hid in its shadow, trying to transfer his essence into his new body.

But the cat began to show resistance, making strange growling sounds and hissing, as if it sensed something was wrong.

The girl, who named the cat "Mr. Poof," was expecting her pet and was greatly surprised when she saw its strange behavior. She quickly went to the bushes, worried about her cat.

- Mr. Poof? Are you okay? - The girl asked excitedly as she approached the bushes.

Inside the cat's body, Lox felt a strong resistance and incomprehension. He wasn't sure he could enter this body without harming his soul.

He felt a strange connection to this cat, as if they were interconnected, and it confused him.

When the girl took her wand out of her left pocket and opened the bushes, a docile cat with green eyes sat in front of her, looking straight at her. He purred as if welcoming her presence.

- Meow?" said Mr. Poof softly, seeming as if he was asking what was going on.

Lox, sensing his unique opportunity, was ready to take advantage of the situation. He was extremely careful not to give himself away while he was in this cat body.

He could feel the girl directing her attention to the cat and was sure this was the perfect moment to act.

"Quick and uncluttered," Lox thought as he prepared to absorb the cat's soul.

Concentrating, he carefully entered the cat's mind, protecting his own essence from possible dangers.

Lox knew that the absorption process could be risky, and he needed to proceed with caution.

His demonic essence slowly began to absorb the cat's soul, but he was extremely careful not to upset the delicate balance. He could feel the cat's knowledge and experience flowing into his consciousness.

Lox realized that in this way he could not only gain a physical shell, but also access the knowledge and experience of the various beings he would absorb.

Time seemed to slow down as Lox explored the cat's consciousness. He was learning to recognize its habits, perception of its surroundings, and the creature's strengths.

After a few minutes, the absorption process was complete. Lox became possessed by the cat's body, but did not lose his true self. He felt stronger with his new knowledge and experience.

The girl looked at the cat with a smile on her face:

- so sweet, Mr. Poof. Is everything alright? You're kind of weird today.

Lox, now in the body of a cat, purred back, trying to act just like the real Mr. Poof.

"It worked," Lox thought, feeling satisfied.

The girl, smiling happily, took Mr. Poof in her arms and said softly:

- Let's go home, Mr. Poof.

Lox, being inside the cat's body, was experiencing a strange mix of emotions. He felt the pleasure of being close to the girl he had previously seen from afar, and the joy of being able to get closer to her.

At the same time, he retained his demonic essence, which made his feelings complex and contradictory.

- Meow," Lox licked her cheek, wanting to show his gratitude and get closer to her.

The girl smiled at him, noticing the cat's greeting.

- You're so cute," she said, cuddling the black cat tighter to her.

They slowly headed back, and Lox, being inside the cat, felt a closeness to the girl that he had previously thought unattainable.

With each step he felt the connection to this girl grow stronger and stronger, and his plans for revenge and power seemed more and more feasible.

The girl continued talking to Mr. Poof, unaware that beneath the cat's normally cute exterior lurked a demonic entity hungry for revenge.

- How did you enjoy our walk, little guy? - she asked, not expecting an answer.

- Meow," Lox kept the conversation going, trying to seem like a real cat.

He knew he had to be careful not to put himself in danger, but he also felt that his new shell allowed him to get closer to the human world and explore new possibilities.

"It's done!" - thought Lox with satisfaction. He knew that his journey to vengeance and power was just beginning, and he was ready to use every moment to reach his goal.

Lox, on the other hand, from the girl's back, was grinning like the ultimate evil genius.

Lox, who was in the guise of Mr. Poof's black cat, was led into a huge hut in the middle of a wild forest.

The huge house looked unusual and mysterious, as if straight out of a fairy tale.

The hut was small, greenish and looked like it belonged to a witch or sorceress.

There was a misty smoke coming from the fireplace above, which made the place even more mysterious.

A mysterious light emanated from the hut, and it seemed as if ancient powers and knowledge were coming to life inside.

The girl who held Mr. Poof in her arms smiled softly and walked inside the hut, opening the door in front of him.

- Welcome, little one," she said as if addressing a cat.

Lox felt a great excitement, realizing that he was in the witch's home and would be able to learn more about magic and the mysteries of this world.

A desire burned in his soul to gain new knowledge and powers that would help him in his quest for revenge.

He walked inside the hut, following the girl, and found himself inside a mysterious space.

The hut was decorated with colorful candles, strange amulets and mysterious symbols, creating an atmosphere of magic and enchantment.

The girl placed Mr. Poof on a soft bed that was located in the corner of the room. She sat down next to him and started talking to him as if he were her favorite pet.

- You're so amazing, Mr. Poof," she said, stroking his soft fur.

- I always feel that you are somehow special, special among all the cats.

Lox, being in the body of a cat, purred in response, wanting to strengthen his bond with the girl and continue his exploration of this mysterious place.

He felt that his decision to inhabit the body of a cat was the right one.

- Mr. Poof, it's time to eat," the girl said sweetly.

She took out a bag of some beans and started pouring them into a red bowl standing on the floor.

Lox, being in the guise of a cat, felt a strange feeling.

He was a demon, and his habits and tastes were completely different. He looked at the food that was now in front of him with some disgust.

"Eating cat food, what have I descended to," Lox thought to himself, having mixed feelings about his new shell.

However, knowing that he was in the body of a cat, Lox decided not to attract suspicion and appear to the girl as the real Mr. Poof.

He leaned over the bowl in disgust and began to slowly eat the food.

The girl smiled as she watched her pet.

- You are so sweet, Mr. Poof. Eat, my dear, – she said, apparently pleased that the cat had accepted the food.

Inside the cat, though, Lox felt his appetite quickly catching up with him.

Perhaps his new cat body had its own peculiarities to consider.

With each sip, he felt less and less disgusted and was starting to get used to the food.

"Man, this isn't so bad," Lox thought, appreciating the new flavor.

He realized that his current state was just a temporary fix to accomplish his goals.

He was willing to accept any circumstances and act within his new guise in order to progress on his path to vengeance and power.

After eating, Lox moved away from the bowl and licked his whiskers, just as the real Mr. Poof would have done.

'Yeah, yikes," Lox replied in his thoughts, knowing that he would have to get used to a lot of things in this world in order to achieve his revenge and become a powerful demon.
