Sherlock felt that it was inappropriate to stare at the thumbtack, so he shifted his gaze to Nightingale's portrait on the wall.
In the next second, the doctor called John Watson walked into sight. He tidied the creases in his sleeves and sat on the other side of the desk… but he did not speak immediately.
He probably did not want to disturb the person in front of him from admiring the girl in the portrait.
Sherlock realized this and smiled as he retracted his gaze. He said, "It seems that all doctors have a portrait of Nightingale hanging in their offices."
"Of course, she's an angel. She deserves to be worshipped by all the medical staff," Watson said. He also looked at the painting for about a second or two. "But you and I both know that the admiration people have for her definitely doesn't just stem from her noble morals and medical skills. Part of it is because… she's simply too beautiful."
