THE FIFTH ELEMENT 🌊🔥🌪️⛰️☯️
Chapter 4....
"Mom. So are you going to tell me about what happened earlier or are we gonna keep pretending it didn't happen." I said to my mom while we were having dinner that night.
She kept stalling to tell me what I wanted to know.
"Ok. I think it's time you knew something." my mom said to me.
"Yeah I know. Just tell me. Please." I say to her.
"Cassie. You're special."
"Yeah. You've told me that since I was a baby." I say to her.
"I mean really special. Gifted to do great things." my Mom said.
"*Gifted. What do you mean?" I say to her.
Some part of me was already expecting this.
"Cassie, I'm not your real mother. I'm sorry I didn't tell you sooner. I was sworn to secrecy till now. But your real mother had a great and unique ability just like you but yours is more special." My mom say and I pause for a minute.
"Cassie? Are you okay?" she asked me.
"I'm just trying to understand what you just said. You're not mother?. What does this even mean." I say feeling heartbroken.
"I'm sorry Cassie. I'm really sorry." she said to me.
"if you're not my mom, then who is." I said while looking her right in the eye.
"Thats something you'll find out soon enough. But Cassie there's something else."
"Something else like what? After what you just told me, I don't think anything else can top that." I say to her.
"Those people you saw earlier, they're from your real home. They also have gifts just like you do. But each person has a different gift. But yours is more special and unique. Never have seen before. Which is why you will have to go with them when they return here tomorrow. They'll teach you everything you need to know about yourself." my said to me.
"Are you being serious? I don't care about any gift. I'm not going anywhere with people I don't even know. I won't go with them." I said to her and left the dinning room.
I went straight to my room to think about everything my mom just told me.
She's not even my mom.
This is a nightmare and I want it to be over.
****
The bright light from my room woke me up. I hadn't realized I fell asleep last night..
I checked the clock beside my bed and it was 7am.
I managed to get up from bed and went to freshen up for the day.
I got dressed and ready for school for the day.
I went downstairs just to see my mom already awake.. she was making breakfast in the kitchen.
"Cassie.. you're awake." she said to me.
"Yes I am." I didn't feel like talking to her after the revelation she made to me last night.
"I made breakfast. You should take a seat. I'll dish yours out in a sec." she said while putting some of the pancakes she made on a plate.
"I'm not hungry."
"Honey you don't have to be hungry in order to take breakfast. Now take a seat." she said and pointed her hands at the chair.
"I said I'm not hungry!. I mean it's not like you're my real mom right? So why even bother telling me what to do." I said spitefully.
"Look, I know that you're angry that I kept the secret from you, but you don't get to talk to me that way. I nursed and raised you to the person you are today, and I love you like my own. I've done what every mother would do for their children for you. So I am your mother even though I didn't give birth to you, so you have to respect me."
"Right. So what do you want? An apology?. I've been living a lie for eighteen years mom!. How could you not mention this to me, not even once. And now you're telling me I have this gift...and I belong with bunch of strangers from no where. Forgive me if my tone was spiteful, but I think it's justifyable." I said to her.
"Isn't my love for you enough? Have I ever failed you as a mother? Tell me." she said to me.
"I'm going to school. I don't want to continue this drama anymore." I said while headed for the door.
"Cassie...you can't go to school. The Elementals would be back again today. I have to prepare you to go with them when they come. Please." my mom said with pleading eyes.
"Elementals? Is that what they call themselves. Anyway mom I don't really care. I'm not going anywhere with anyone. I'm going to school." I said and opened up the door and banged it loudly while shutting it.
