Wiphas
I can hear a cough, coming back to my senses, I realize I'm mauling Shane's mouth. Oh, Shayla, I just forced myself on him. What would have happened if we wouldn't have been interrupted? I try to pry Shane from me, but he has a death grip on my uniform, his head hidden in my chest. I can hear a faint moan, I can see his blush to his ear tip and down his neck. Omega pheromones permeate the air, slamming into me like a punch to the gut. My cock instantly hardens under Shane. I try to will it down, but my body is high strung from his pheromones. I look up at the one interrupting us and come face to face with a grinning Doc. Doc is a way too amused about my lapse of judgment. Thankfully I lose my erection. Doc pulls out an injector, he injects Shane with something, and I feel him slump for a moment. His pheromones fade. My head clears fully.
"Better?" Doc asks, amused.
Shane turns to Doc, still blushing hotly.
"What happened?" He asks, confused.
"If I had to guess, your body was reacting to me. You were feeling lost, hopeless, and alone. And when I declared I would protect you. Your body reacted insuring I would follow throughout with it."
"What?" Shane asks, still confused.
"What the captain tried to explain to you," Doc interrupts before I can say more,
"Is that your body reacted by your biological imperative to ensure your protection. By trying to go into heat and be claimed by the available alpha offering to protect you."
Doc explains clinical and matter of factly. Shane turns only redder upon hearing this.
"God, I'm sorry, Wiphas," Shane says, flustered.
"No, Shane, this isn't your fault. I should control my instincts better."
Suddenly Shane stiffens, realizing he still sitting in my lap if I had to guess. He scrambles from me, nearly falling face-first to the floor. I catch him and set him down gently. Already missing his weight in my lap. Soon I need to come clear to him. If he thinks the kiss was only because of the pheromones. But first, I need to get him out of the corner he is in. I want him to choose me because he has a choice and not because I'm his only choice. Doing right by him will not be easy. Looking at him, he sits awkwardly on the chair on my left side now. His head is down staring at the floor, he still wears his adorable blush.
"Captain, how are you feeling today?"
"Stronger and no longer tired. I could eat something, Shane, do you want to join me? You could show me the canteen and the ship."
"Sure, but I'm not the expert for the ship. Let me call my friend Curtis, and then we can go. Doc, will you join us too?"
Shane asks while finally looking up. His embarrassment seems forgotten now, he smiles softly. Doc agrees to join Shane, and Shane gives his friend a call. Moving out of the bed isn't easy. I nearly fall over, my muscles are weak. Doc catches me. Oh, Shayla, I need to move and get my body used to it again, or I embarrass myself further. Nobody says anything at my near fall. Shane comes to my other side and gets under my arm, trying to support me. It's kind of cute that he thinks he could help. I lean heavily on Doc, he grunts but doesn't protest when he sees the reason. Slowly we move to the door, and my feet get used to walking again. We are halfway to the elevator when I'm finally able to walk without support.
"If you shift after you have eaten, the last weakness in your muscled should disappear," Doc whispers into my ear.
I say nothing to this and hope it will work. I need to be able to protect Shane. Especially if everything goes souths.
-------
When we arrive at the canteen, I'm slightly sweaty, my muscle straining. We walk to the table where the General and the rest of my crew sits. Besides, the General is a pregnant Omega. A blond young man on the other side of the pregnant omega looks up. When he sees us, he gets up and runs over, hugging Shane and both nearly topple over. Doc rights them before I can help. Both start laughing.
"Curtis, this is Wiphas. He is the leader of the rebels," Shane introduce me,
"Wiphas, this is my best friend and the Generals oldest son Curtis."
Curtis offers me his hand, and I shake it. He stares up at me, looking me critically over. Together we walk to the table. Shane gets distracted by the pregnant Omega, and Curtis blocks my path and stares up at me.
"You hurt him, and I will find you no matter where you hide."
Before turning around, looking happily like nothing just happened at all. Dancing over to Shanes and the Omegas side. I seat myself opposite of Shane, a selection of food is spread out in the middle of the table. Doc to my left starts to pile food on his plate. I follow his example and try out everything. I learn that the Omega is Miguel Griffin, the Generals Husband and Omega father of Curtis. I start to dig in and release I'm famished.
-------
We are nearly finished with our meal when we get interrupted. An officer runs in and shouts,
"General, I found it."
He stutters between gasp.
"Sam, what did you find?"
"One of our technicians found that the evidence is forged. We nearly missed it. But the handwritten letters which indeed seem like written by Shane lack the emotional component. The typeface looked too clinical for a love letter. We found it matched the font of the Shanes University application. The so-called videos are holo videos programmed with the parameters of Shane's appearance and a voice sample. Which too lacked the emotional part of a lovesick teenager," Sam says without taking a breath.
The General holds his hand out for the tablet, and Sam hands it over.
"Good work, I will contact the senator responsible and get an investigation started. Shane, we will take you in protective custody for the time being. The same applies to the rebels that helped you. As long the investigation is underway, I need you all available for the investigators for questions. We will land at Fort Berlin shortly."
Standing up, he leaves the room together with his aide Sam. Shane looks beyond relieved.
"Ohh god, I thought someone pulled the rug from under me when I saw the video. And I would be trapped. Curtis, I can't thank you enough for all you did."
"I only told dad that I don't believe that crap. You should thank Sam and the technicians that found it out. I think we should celebrate. Cake for all!"
Shane starts laughing.
"You don't need a reason to eat cake."
Curtis blushes at his dad's words, and Shane just starts to laugh harder. I think there is a story behind that. Curtis and Shane stand up and run off to the big food replicator in the corner. It takes a few minutes, but they come back with a massive cake on a platter balancing between them.
"Here comes chocolate lemon cake, Shanes favorite."
He cuts the cake evenly and distributes it to all of us. I feel skeptical, and my crew mirrors it.
"Do not say no before you try it," Shanes says to me and winks.
"Challenge accepted," I reply in my most serious tone.
Looking at the cake on my plate, I can see it has six layers. One of them is chocolate frosting, two are lemon curd, and the other three are a chocolate cake. Taking a forkful, I moan when the cake hits my taste buds. The bittersweetness of the chocolate and cake gets complimented by the burst of sour from the lemon curd, it's a juicy cake. I take bite after bite and soon my piece of cake is gone. Before I can feel regret in not taking my time, a second piece gets placed on my plate. I look up, surprised, and Shane smiles shyly at me.
"You looked like you could eat another piece or four," he says to me, blushing.
My crew burst into laughter, I look around and see that my men still need to dig in.
"You laugh now, try it before you judge me."
Looking at each other, each of them takes a forkful, count to three, and places it all at the same time in their mouth. Every single one of my men looks pleasantly surprised, only Krelak manages to swallow his moan down. Everybody finally starts to dig in, and it doesn't take long to polish the massive cake to a few crumbs.
Afterward, I feel like I'm in a food coma. I'm unwilling to even move an inch. I shouldn't have eaten four slices, but Shane just served one after the other. Until I had to tell him that sadly no, I can't eat one more bite.
-------
We missed the landing completely. The general came back seeing us all, and the cake crumbs and burst into laughter.
"Let me guess. You celebrated with a cake?" the General says eyeing Curtis,
"We landed, you all can stay with us. Our home is more than big enough. The investigators will start with the interviews the day after tomorrow."
Together we walk to one of the many exit ramps. The general already organized a transit to his home. Big enough is an understatement when I see it. It's a vast Mansion, we are still inside Fort Berlin. The Mansion is surrounded by a forest. Giving it a secluded feeling to the left, I can see a big pond. In the background, you can see the mountains. We arrived at twilight, and both moons start to climb the horizon. I can hear the nightlife roaming the forest around us.
The Mansion is fenced in, a guardhouse sits beside the gate. Guards walk the perimeter together with some furry four-legged creature. If I recall it right, they are called dogs. One of the remnants of the past. There are fewer trees on the property, but two hold tree houses connected throughout a bridge to each other. A playground for smaller children is near the patio. Seeing the things for the children reminds me how different we are and yet how many similarities we share. For a moment, I imagine myself with Shane sitting on a similar patio watching our children play. I smile before it vanishes again. Something like that will never happen, as long as the Xertian King stills rules. On Xerun, there are not any playgrounds, it's all about hiding and survival. The temperature of the planet itself is so hostile playing outdoors would be insane.
Then I'm not sure if Shane is even interested in me beyond getting protection. But now the General can start to collect evidence against his father. Soon Shane will be free to do what he wants without fear. And my crew and I will go back to Xerun, there is still a rebellion we need to lead to success.
"General, may I have few words in private with you?"
Shane looks puzzled at me. But does not ask while we walk inside. The foyer is big and two grand stairways leading to the other floors. I look up it's at least five floors. In the middle of the entrance is a small fountain out of marble, statuary humans with small wings splash in the water, laughing. The stairway is out of polished wood. A thick blue rug spreads from the entrance up the stairs. Embroidered with silver, around the fountain are the three armored animals from their military insignia. On the walls are historical art pieces between family pictures.
Shane and Curtis, with my crew, climb the right stairway up to the second floor. I can hear them say that there are guest quarters. I look at the general, and he nods to his left, I follow him throughout the left archway, we walk by a big living room with a fireplace and a sunroom with doors to the patio we saw from outside. We walk around a corner, a long hall to the only door ahead.
"This my office. We can talk here. It's a secure place," General Griffin says while he steps in,
"Care to have a drink with me?"
Nodding to the general, I sit down in one of the chairs in front of his desk. He pours us each a glass of strong-smelling alcohol. Holding my glass up for a toast, the general sits down behind his desk.
"When the interviews are over, we are free to go, correct?"
"Yes, we even will replace your destroyed ship. But are you sure you want to leave?"
"What do you mean?"
I reply, feigning innocence.
"It did not go unnoticed that Shane seems close to you," General Griffin says grinning and then getting serious,
"And because his dad does not do a good job. Let me tell you that you better treat him right. I sure you understand what happens otherwise."
"If Shane wants to pursue what is between us. But I will not force him!"
"Good, but I'm sure that wasn't the reason you wanted to talk to me."
"No, you are right. The Information we gained maybe was destroyed. But not before I and some of my crewmembers could read parts of it."
