Chapter 12 - Flowdai Town

Our ship was docked at the port of Flowdai Town as the three of us looked amazed at the beautiful scenery. We admired the serenity of Flowdai Town and followed Azalea, Cheren, and Bianca off the ship.

"Welcome to Flowdai Town, home of the great Legendary Flowgrace." Azalea said and smiled then noticed Flowgrace emerge from her pokeball.

Flowgrace had a femininely anthropomorphic figure with pupil-less blue eyes and her body resembled that of a graceful white gown. Her hair was long, wavy, and green and she wore a Ragnu Bracelet on her wrist. She was rather tall, around 5'03".

"Whoa. She's so pretty." Aurora said as she looked at Flowgrace.

Flowgrace let out a graceful cry and began to glide across the grass to the town. The people of Flowdai noticed Flowgrace and were happy about her reappearance.

"Come on. I have a place here with one of my mom's friends we can stay at for a while. There's something we need to do in Flowdai before we tackle the Ragnu Peak." Azalea said then pointed at the tall mountain behind the town.

We looked at the mountain and noticed how high it was. Azalea walked forward and smiled. We followed her and noticed how many people were happy to see Azalea. Cheren and Bianca followed behind, taking pictures of the place for their professor of Unova. Cheren and Bianca decided to split from the group to find a place for them to stay for a while.

Vain groaned softly as he walked toward the town. "So why exactly are we going to Flowdai other than me gaining access to Ragnu Sync, something I obviously don't need."

"Well our mission is to specifically take the Ragnu Bracelets for our main organization, Team Anti-Sync. I can't disclose any important information, but that's the only reason we are following them." Shinji said.

"I think it's pointless to target them. There are other places with Ragnu Bracelets." Kusagi said as he followed.

"True, but these bracelets are special as they were made by Rosemary herself. The power they hold is extraordinary. It is said that Rosemary has taken a liking to them so she's helping from the shadows along with Freya." Shinji said.

Vain looked at Shinji. "What exactly is your relationship with Axel's mom? You seem to know a lot about her."

Shinji chuckled and crossed his arms as he walked forward. "Ahh let's just say...Freya and I have history. A lot of it. As I've said before, we used to be Rivals."

Vain looked at Shinji and rose an eyebrow. "Alright. You just seem fascinated in Axel and not the other two. They are equal threats."

"Yeah, but their battle prowess isn't on par with Axel's. The way he can have his Pokemon fight against fully evolved Pokemon and come to a close win with them, he's has something only a trainer of history had. The power to bond with Pokemon like that is only a feat few can accomplish. One being Red and his Pikachu." Shinji said as he walked forward.

Dandelion softly whined and her hat covered her face more. "I-I think it's best if we don't tackle them. We should focus on other islands and—"

"Enough. We got our mission." Vain said as he continued to walk forward.

Dandelion sighed and looked at Kusagi. He shook his head and they continued to walk forward.

Azalea knocked on the door of a large house and waited. She held her arms and closed her eyes. The door swung open and Azalea dodged a kick then smirked. She opened her eyes and blocked the punch of the woman.

"Heh...I see you're still keeping up with your training!" The woman said then twirled around with a roundhouse kick.

Azalea dodged the kick then jumped back. We quickly moved out of the way and noticed Flowgrace rushing to Azalea's aid.

"Stormscale!" The woman bellowed then dodged Flowgrace's kick.

A roar was heard and powerful winds blew. A tornado formed and a dragon emerged from the tornado with a loud roar. The dragon was a quadrupedal dragon with white and black feather and scales on the underbelly of the dragon. It had a horn on its forehead and horns that curved around its head. It had four wings and wind energy circled around its body.

"What the heck is this Pokemon?!" Aurora asked in shock.

Melody grunted as she felt Azalea's and the woman's prowess. She held onto my arm and her legs began shaking. "T-Too...strong..!"

"It's time to settle things, Lady of the Storm!" Azalea said then jumped backwards and Flowgrace rushed in front of her.

The woman smirked and flipped her hair. "Let's finish things, Lady of Grace."

The woman had long lime green hair, creamy skin, and aquamarine eyes. Her build was rather curvaceous, even more than Lily and Kagami. She also had elven ears like Flora and wore a golden hair ornament on the back of her head. She wore a green shoulder dip cocktail dress with white ornate designs on it. She also wore a golden ring around her neck with a Ragnu Stone in the middle.

"I thought you said she was a friend!" I said.

"She is, but she's also my main rival! She holds the Pokemon that rivals Flowgrace. Stormscale is the Destruction to Flowgrace's Serenity. The Tyranny to her Gracefulness. This is Midori Rantaro, she is one of Kalos's many Champions." Azalea smirked.

"A battle between Champions and Legendaries! This isn't the place for this!" I said.

Midori looked at me then grunted. "Freya's son?!"

Azalea looked at me then turned her look back at Midori. "Eh? You know him?"

The battle that was supposed to happen, stopped before things got destructive. Stormscale landed beside Midori and looked at me, Melody, and Aurora.

"Yeah, Freya is one of my friends. What are the chances that I would be friends with your mother and Axel's mother." Midori giggled. "You all may enter my home."

~~~~~
"Ahh so you're all here to climb Ragnu Peak? Well that's gonna be an issue." Midori sighed.
"Why?" Aurora asked.
"Well, Ragnu Power is only accessable to trainers who wield undying love for their Pokemon. Ragnu Sync is for those with the strongest bonds with Pokemon. That's doesn't only mean battling with them because as you've seen, sometimes you have to be the one to protect your Pokemon." Midori said.
A memory of Lily and Kagami fighting had came into Aurora's head. She looked at Midori and sat back in her chair. "Ragnu allows trainers to fight?"
"Not in official matches, but there will come times where a simple battle won't be enough. Team Sync is what caused this, and because of it Ragnarok made an official rule saying Trainers may proceed with hand to hand combat if necessary." Midori answered.
"None of us has ever been in an actual fight." Melody said.
"That's why we will teach you the basics of self defense. You won't only have to fight against Trainers, but against other pokemon. It is a universal rule saying one can not travel without a Pokemon, but when it comes down to getting to safety...some Pokemon will still attack." Azalea explained.
I looked at the table and crossed my arms. "Team Sync, what is their goal?"
"Ragnu Synchronization is a powerful technique that allows pokemon to enter Ragnu Formes, Mega Evolve, and even Dynamax. When Ragnarok had founded this land, he had Mega Stones and a Wishing Star. He crafted those two together with the Ragnu Star and formed the Ragnu Stone which held incredible power. Enough power to open the stairs to Arceus's Domain." Midori started.
"Team Sync and Team Anti-Sync needs powerful Ragnu Stones that will generate enough power to open the golden stairs to Arceus because they want Arceus's power to reshape the entire universe to how they want it. The leader of Team Sync is an old Team Galactic member. He wants to follow the goals of Cyrus and take it a step further than the Creation Trio. He wants to meet the Originator." Midori finished.
"Meet Arceus..? But that's literally impossible. Didn't some guy in the ancient past try this before?" I asked.
"Volo.." Aurora said. "If they are trying to meet Arceus, wouldn't they need the 18 Plate Types?"
Midori shrugged. "I've never given it much thought, but I can say the 18 Plates do reside in the hands of the Ragnu Masters. Their Ace Pokemon holds the specific Plate of their main Type."
"No wonder Miragroot was so powerful. He was holding a Plate. Probably the Meadow Plate." I said.
Midori stood up as she heard her tea kettle. "It is said those who defeat the Ragnu Masters at their best is rewarded the Plate. I personally don't know the power the plates wield, but I do know if Team Sync figures it out, they will target the Ragnu Masters as well. Axel, come with me please."
I nodded and got up. I walked toward her with Rowlet following behind. We walked into the kitchen together. I watched Midori turn the stove off and she placed the kettle on an eye that wasn't on.
Midori looked at me and smiled. "I know it's a shock to you, but I am one of Freya's friends and she always tells me about your progress as a trainer. If you do great during our training, I will reward you a special Pokemon from Kalos."
"What Pokemon?" I asked.
"A Froakie. Specially bred for battle and everything. He's trained for battle and all he needs is a trainer to unleash that raw potential." Midori said and poured tea into the cups.
I watched her and nodded. "Hey, I know mom wouldn't tell me, but do you have any clues on who my father is or where he is?"
Midori was a bit silent and kept pouring tea. I noticed a cup was overflowing and stopped her. She broke out of her trance and noticed the mess she had created.
"S-Sorry...I—"
"No I shouldn't have asked." I said and got a few towels. I began to wipe the counter.
Midori placed her hand over mine and looked at me. "I'll tell you, but under one condition."
I looked at her and felt her hand gently squeeze mine. "What condition?"
Midori smiled at me. "A Pokemon Battle. Information like this can't be told straight up because the consequences of it will be too much for you to bear."
"I accept." I nodded. "I have to know...I have never met him at all, but I know he's alive because mom has a torn picture in a frame and I feel like I should know who he is."
"I agree and if you can defeat me in a fair Pokemon Battle, I'll tell you. I promise." Midori said.
I nodded and smiled at her. "Thanks.."
"Now let's get these teas and snacks back to the others. We have a lot to discuss." Midori said.
