A sudden feeling of vulnerability washed over me, and I yearned to be pampered. I started walking towards Jordan with a cold demeanor, resembling someone who had endured mistreatment for a prolonged period.
Jordan adjusted his position on the chair, creating a space for me, and signaled for me to sit. I obliged but still felt a deep sense of vulnerability.
"How are you?" Jordan murmured, locking his gaze with mine.
"I'm fine," I whimpered, as he continued to scrutinize me. After some time, he took a deep breath and increased the intensity of the reading light on the table.
And so, the learning began. As I desperately needed to learn, I focused all my attention on the task at hand.
Joy filled my heart as I knew that I would soon learn how to read. Throughout the learning process, a smile never left my face. As the night grew darker, I began to pronounce two and three-letter words. Jordan wrote down a few words and blended them together.
