Slowly, I turned my head until I was standing face-to-face with Mrs. Haverford.
"Know what?" I asked.
"While I was cleaning Kayla's bedroom this morning, I found this in her bathroom," said Mrs. Haverford, looking around the room. She dipped her hand in her pocket and took out a pregnancy test strip.
"It tested positive. She is pregnant," Mrs. Haverford said, her face furrowed with concern. She frowned when she noticed that I remained unfazed by the revelation.
"Did your husband already tell you?" she asked, with a deep frown on her face.
"Yes," I replied, turning and beginning to walk away.
"And you're okay with this?" Mrs. Haverford ran after me, continuing to talk. The revelation seemed to have shocked her greatly.
"Just pretend you know nothing," I said firmly.
"O...kay," she sputtered, taken aback.
