Edward Anderson was indeed sick with a high fever, but his fainting wasn't entirely due to the cold. It was because he had taken sleeping pills that made him unable to resist falling into a deep sleep.
Seeing the doctor's hesitance, Bella Scott thought Edward had some incurable disease. "Doctor, is his illness very serious?" she asked.

Just as the doctor was about to tell the truth, Randy Hill appeared and said to the doctor, "Doctor, Edward's cold isn't serious, right?"

After Randy and the doctor left, Bella sat in front of the hospital bed, staring at Edward's face absentmindedly.
