Avery Clark felt somewhat guilty and comforted Ella a few times: "Ella, you go back first, I'll come to see you later."
Ella nodded, glancing at Robert Thomson one last time. He still appeared nonchalant, so she had no choice but to leave.
As Avery watched her walk away, the smile on her face faded. She turned to rebuke Robert, but he had already stood up, casually saying, "I'm going to rest."
"Hold on!" Avery could not stand his indifferent attitude. However, Robert's apathy left her unable to vent her anger.
"Your father will be back tomorrow. Stay at home!"
He didn't respond or acknowledge her, merely closing his door after quite a while.
