Robert Thomson wasn't worried. Since his brother had given him advice, it was clear that he didn't object to Emma Smith. As long as he arranged things well, Emma should easily win sympathy.
However, the key to this matter lay with Tommy.
If Tommy didn't perform well, his impatient brother would think the child was dull, stupid, and disobedient, and would simply say PASS!
But if he was as lively and lovely as he was now, and could get on Oliver's good side, there would be no problem!
He then said, "Let's discuss this matter when we get home. Especially Tommy. It wouldn't be difficult for my brother to accept Tommy, but we need Tommy to cooperate."
Who doesn't know how to coax a child? Emma Smith laughed and said, "Tommy."
The little fellow ran over happily. Emma asked, "Tommy, Uncle Thomson wants to take you to Swallow City to find a little brother to play with. How about it?"
