For a moment, Christopher and she both heard Robert Thomson's voice from inside.
His tone was very heavy, as if slightly displeased, with a strong nasal accent.
Upon hearing Robert's response, the woman exclaimed excitedly, "Robert! It's me, it's Ella! Ella Martin, remember me?"
There was a brief silence inside before Robert said indifferently, "Come in."
Upon getting permission, Ella twisted her waist and gave Christopher a triumphant stare. Her expression seemed to say: 'Look who's underestimated! Who do you think I am?'
Then, she showed a charming smile and pushed the door open.
