Although she was stubborn, she was very efficient in her actions. Using a warm, wet towel, she wiped Emma's body. Emma looked down and saw a large red and swollen area on her mother's hand, and immediately became anxious, "Mom, what happened?"
"Oh, I accidentally touched it while making soup. I've put some ointment on, it's nothing." She shook her head. Emma felt even more worried, "How can it be nothing? It must be very painful, right?"
"Really, it's nothing." She shook her head. It happened this morning when she was making soup. She had set it on low heat to simmer slowly and had set a timer, but she overslept, worried that her daughter might be hungry, and rushed to pack things up. She accidentally knocked over the soup pot, pouring it on her hand.
Despite the pain, she quickly cleaned up, filled half of the pot, and immediately brought it over.
"How can it not hurt?" Emma felt incredibly guilty.
