When this last thought formed in Emma Smith's mind, she immediately shook her head to dismiss it, not wanting to believe it. If Robert Thomson truly knew she had a child, how could he remain so calm?
As for having a new love interest, that was a possibility. She had seen with her own eyes countless women throwing themselves at Robert, eagerly pursuing him. She initially thought Robert was the type to change women as frequently as he changed his clothes, a complete womanizer who never turned anyone away.
However, to be honest, it was only during the past month that she had been with him, witnessing him drive away all the women around him, only to treat her especially well, even proposing to her in public.
But then again, a proposal is just a proposal. After all, they were not married yet. If he had other options and chose to abandon her, she would not blame him.
