When Emma Smith arrived, she saw Dylan King sleeping beside little Tommy, who was lying peacefully in his small bed, still hooked to an IV but not awake. A pang of pain shot through her heart. She didn't know if it was due to her incompetence or the relationship between Tommy and Dylan.
The room was very clean, and although Tommy had an upset stomach, there was no sign of any mess.
She slowly pushed open the door, and before she could say anything, Dylan woke up first. He looked up, his eyes bloodshot, and his face somewhat pale.
