"I've already talked to Dr. Edwards, and we've completed the necessary tests for the patient. His condition is stable with no sign of abnormal fever or rejection. We will continue to observe his progress. I'm on call today, so if anything happens, please notify me right away!"
"I understand. I'll keep a close eye on him," Emma Smith nodded.
"Alright, we'll get going. If there's anything else, just let us know!" Charles Lee said this before nodding towards Dr. Edwards. Without saying anything, he turned away with a clean and efficient motion, seemingly treating her as nothing more than a stranger.
With Doctor Lee walking in front and Dr. Edwards following behind, Emma stood still, watching their retreating figures.
Five years ago, she had watched Dylan King's departing figure in the same way at the airport.
Back then, she had no reason to stop him. Today, she didn't know if she had enough reason to hold him back.
