The dragon closed its eyes for a moment, feeling infinite blessings emanating from countless universes.
One hour passed, and finally, the light show came to a halt.
Without wasting time, Draconius immediately opened his mouth, and a small black hole appeared, swallowing all the remaining golden liquid and eggshell.
Afterward, he spoke with a surprised expression, "It seems that old man who tried to invade my body isn't entirely useless either!"
A shock of information from tens of thousands of years suddenly flooded his mind, gradually attempting to take over his spirit.
"It's a good method to return to life if I were an ordinary mortal teenager; it's a pity." Shaking his head disappointedly, he closed his eyes, and with a thought, the various foreign emotions invading his thoughts were suppressed until they disappeared.
Everything became like a movie of tens of thousands of years.
Still with closed eyes, he inspected his body with divine senses for a moment. Soon after, he opened his eyes and said to himself, "Hmm... this level of energy... sigh It's a shame I can't be born at the divine level. I wanted at least to be born as an immortal, but it seems I'll have to settle for the mortal level. At least I'll be able to find ways to become even stronger than just relying on my lineage."
"I must have attracted a lot of attention. I feel many people trying to pry into my information. Seers and oracles are a pain. Since I'm an anomaly, have the system, and the protection of my mother, it should be okay for now. But I must be cautious when starting to interact with the inhabitants of this region. Still, better safe than sorry because I'm very weak." Speaking to himself, Draconius sighed.
Suddenly, the golden lines adorning the dragon's body turned completely silver, and he spoke, "Eternal Mode: Temporal Substitution!" An ancient silver clock appeared in front of Draco for a moment. He spat out some of the golden liquid he had just stored, and the clock absorbed it, spinning seven times before disappearing as if it had never existed.
"That should be enough, hehehe! I hope you enjoy the show." A mischievous smile appeared on Draco's draconic face.
"Now let's see what's attracting me. I've been feeling this call for some time."
While battling with the immortal sword, he felt the direction he was traveling abruptly change, and an instinctive desire emerged.
Sitting on the golden sphere, he drew a symbol with his claws, and a hologram of a control panel materialized in front of him.
"glub I think it was this button." Swallowing nervously and trembling, Draconius hesitated to press the button. His father had given a brief explanation of how this spell works, but he ended up falling asleep during the explanation.
"My son, above all, never press this button. It is for self-destruction and will create a small black hole at the location." His father's words vaguely passed through his mind.
"I'm sure it wasn't this one! ... I hope." Closing his eyes, he pressed the button forcefully.
"Is everything okay?" After a few seconds, he wondered, opening his eyes. Draco observed that a monitor had appeared in front of his eyes, showing the landscape in the direction he was traveling.
"Let's see..." Zooming in, he noticed a gigantic dark cloud far ahead, occasionally emitting red rays.
Suddenly, a system notification appeared in front of his eyes, disrupting his analysis.
[FREE ME! NOW! NOW!]
"Tch! Annoying chicken." Clicking his tongue, he focused energy on his claws and, with a motion, created a small portal, tearing space slightly.
PLOP!
"Finally, about time! I'm sure you would have forgotten me if I hadn't sent notifications!" Gold said annoyed as he emerged from the portal, crossing his wings on his chest.
"Almost. Thank you for reminding me." Speaking nonchalantly, Draco ignored Gold and continued looking at the monitor.
"Wow, it's so beautiful out here!" Gold observed the surroundings of the energy sphere they were traveling in, fascinated by the countless universes shining in the multiverse like a starry sky.
"Do you think so too?" Draconius asked while trying to check what was inside the massive cloud that was so massive that the surrounding universes seemed like dust.
"What are you doing?" Gold approached curiously, seeing that the dragon was so focused. Scaling Draco's body and reaching his shoulder, he tried to observe the monitor as well.
"Stay quiet for a moment. Let me see if I can find the information in the Immortal Sword's memory. Someone who can travel through the multiverse as a fragment of a soul must have a lot of useful information." Draco closed his eyes for a moment to search the Immortal Sword's memory for any relevant details.
"I HIT THE JACKPOT HAHAHA!" Suddenly finding a scene where the Immortal Sword consulted an ancient tome, Draco located the information and became ecstatic with joy.
"What's going on, buddy?" Gold asked, annoyed, trying not to fall off Draco's shoulder.
With a smile on his face, Draco finally responded, "I have some characteristics of time dragons, one of the rarest types of dragons in the entire multiverse, seldom seen even by high-level dragon gods and feared by them!"
"Oh! I didn't know such beings existed!" Gold expressed surprise, nodding.
"When a universe is born in the multiverse, a main river of time is created within it, flowing in only one direction, considered the present. What lies ahead and behind is, respectively, the future and the past. A time dragon, upon birth, seeks to dive into this river and arrives directly at what we consider the end of the river or, to be more direct, the static moment when the universe dies. The dragon enters to absorb the divine temporal energy present in that place to grow." Draco explained casually, recalling what his mother had explained long ago.
"ARE YOU GOING TO DO THAT, AND UNIVERSES DIE?!" Gold exclaimed in shock, his wings on his face.
"Yes, it's the final phase to become an adult." The dragon nodded proudly and continued.
"It's not a death like that of a mortal; it's much more complex. What causes the death of the universe is caused by beings from the universe itself or from the exterior for various reasons. Still, a universe trying to strengthen itself can lead to self-destruction, similar to a cultivator. That's why there are universes with more powerful beings that can dominate others and some that only have mortals."
"Crazy stuff!" Gold was wide-eyed, struggling to imagine such scenes.
"Universes are like cultivators?" The curious chicken asked, as there was no record of such information in the system.
"You can imagine it that way, but it depends on the region. Whether they will have a conscious core or something like that. Like a sentient object, when it has consciousness, it always wants to get better and stronger in the purpose for which it was created. When it doesn't, it's just an object, but this one is very complex and produces energy for the multiverse, being able to strengthen passively." Draco shrugged at the end, leaving only this analogy for the chicken, who seemed to emit smoke from his head, lost in dozens of theories until he got dizzy.
"It's too complicated." Gold shook his beak, giving up thinking too much about how things work since understanding everything was never his goal.
"In the multiverse, possibilities are infinite. In distant regions, the functioning of everything I said may be completely different. So don't get hung up on knowing everything because it's very laborious. But it's these infinite possibilities that make me want to venture!" Speeding up the barrier a bit and dematerializing the monitor, Draco lay down while enjoying the infinite view that stretched before his eyes.
"And you? Why do you seem so obsessed with freedom and your delusions of grandeur?" Draco asked, supporting his chin with his claws, looking curiously at the strange chicken.
"They're not delusions; you'll see!" With an angry chicken face, Gold declared.
But then he paused and started to look embarrassed, clasping his wings on his chest like a human playing with fingers, and spoke softly, looking at the ground:
"In fact, I was supposed to be released after you completed the first mission. I was born a few thousand years ago, and as the system suffered a lot of damage, the habitable space for me was destroyed, and I had to float in the void all this time, only being able to see the broken records available in the system. When I saw that I got a new carrier, I couldn't resist. I went against the innate rules to leave space and see the outside scenery."
"HAHAHA! And just because of that, you almost killed yourself to get out of the portal?" Draco laughed, finding this guy in front of him unbelievable.
"Don't laugh! You don't know what it's like to be born in the dark void and float there for thousands of years, just observing the world through a little window!"
Draco stopped laughing for a few seconds, amazed. But then he burst into more laughter, not caring at all about Gold's anger, and asked the question that caught the chicken off guard:
"HAHAHA! And now? Now that you've seen this beautiful and wonderful scenery with your own eyes, if we went back in time, would you wait many years to find the right spot for the bank, or would you force your way out, even if I weren't there to save you?"
"Definitely!" Gold replied without hesitation and with an irritated look, crossing his wings on his chest.
"HAHAHA!" Draco laughed even more, to the point where small tears came out of his eyes.
"YOU!!!" Gold couldn't take it anymore and wanted to go after the dragon who made fun of him. Tears seemed to form in the small chicken's eyes.
Seeing that Gold was almost at his limit, Draco stopped laughing, approached the chicken's face, which was close, scaring him, and with a huge smile:
"You're undoubtedly something else. I could even say commendable? Let's build the biggest bank the multiverse has ever seen, Gold!" Finishing this, the dragon returned to his previous lying position while holding his chin with his claws, appreciating the scenery.
Gold was surprised and speechless with these words, and his vision began to blur.
"What's this?" Gold sat down and began to wipe away tears quickly, choking a little and smiling a little.
Hearing the sound of crying near his head, Draco just continued observing the surroundings while waiting to reach their destination.
Minutes passed, and Gold finally recovered a little with slightly red eyes.
Approaching the dragon's head and sitting beside him, he remained silent, looking at the beautiful scenery that constantly changed.
Sniffling once, Gold said smiling, "Everything is so beautiful, isn't it?"
"Yes," Draco agreed, smiling.
The odd pair of a chicken and a dragon continued to observe the universes as they traveled to their first destination and the initial starting point of their adventures.
