Jonathan was confused about why Gwen was crying. Was she hurt?
"Gwen are you okay?" he asked.
She cried even harder.
Jonathan consoled her till she calmed down.
"Now tell me, what's wrong?" he asked her after she had calmed down.
"I feel something bad is coming for us." she said.
"Baby, nothing is coming for us. We are fine, we are going to get married on Saturday and we will live happily ever after." he told her.
"I know, but I don't think we are safe. I feel something is out there to get us." she said.
"Gwen, what could possibly be out there to get us?" he asked her.
"I don't know, Kaiden?"
"Kaiden is dead, don't you remember?"
"I remember, but what if he survived?" she asked him fearfully.
"Gwen, that cliff was very high, nobody would have survived that drop. Not even Kaiden"
"We didn't find his body." she pointed out.
"It was probably washed out to sea. That's possible."
"But are we sure?"
"Gwen! Stop thinking about such things. Kaiden is dead, no one is coming after us. On Saturday, we are going to get married and we will start our happy ever after. The happy ever after we deserve. Okay?"
Gwen nodded. Jonathan bent down and kissed her on the lips."See you later love."
"Aren't you staying for dinner?" she asked him.
"No, I have something to attend to in the company. But I will see you tomorrow."
"Okay, take care of yourself."
"You too baby. I love you."
"I love you too." she replied.
He kissed her again before standing from the bed and leaving the room.
Gwen was left alone in her room. 'Kaiden is dead, no one is coming after us' she chanted to herself as she rocked back and forth on the bed.
Jonathan drove his car fast to the company. When he got there, he hurriedly parked his car and headed to the plant.
Some of the workers on night shift were already there looking at the plant. Immediately they noticed him, they parted way for him.
"what's going on?" he asked.
"We don't know boss, the plant just started to glow"
"it just started to glow? Nobody touched it?" Jonathan asked.
"Nobody touched it boss"
Jonathan walked close to the plant and examined it. The plant which had shut down when Kaiden died had come alive. It was glowing and humming softly.
"Has the plant come alive? Will it be able to work again?" one of the workers asked him.
"It just came alive, it doesn't yet have power to work again, but soon it will be at its peak" he replied.
"That's good news sir" the worker said joyfully.
"I agree. Where is my brother?" he asked the worker.
"Mr Jasper is in his office" the worker informed him.
"Clear the area, keep one worker here on standby to watch over the plant" he instructed the worker.
"Yes sir" the worker replied.
Jonathan walked to his brother's office. His brother was seated pressing his phone nonchalantly.
"So do you want to tell me what you are doing here?" he asked.
"Pressing my phone" Jasper replied.
"I can see that but what are you doing here at such a crucial time for the company?"
"I was the one who called you about the plant, wasn't I?"
"So, aren't you supposed to be there?"
"Why? The plant is just glowing and humming, it isn't working yet, there is nothing more I can do"
"Jasper, you always make me angry with you attitude. Anyone would kill to be in your position yet here you are acting like you hate it"
"Jonathan, I am sorry, I should have sat down by the plant waiting for you to come. Are you satisfied now?" Jasper asked him.
"I am."
"So what's going on with the machine?" Jasper asked.
"Nothing, it's just glowing and humming. It doesn't have enough power to start production now"
"I thought you said the machine was connected to Kaiden, if he is dead, why is the machine alive?"
"It must be as a result of one of my methods I tried on it."
"That's good to know, I hope it starts working because the last pistols we delivered were returned today for being substandard. Customers are threatening to boycott us"
"That won't happen. The plant will work soon. It has to." Jonathan said.
"Okay" Jasper said and went back to his phone.
A thought came to Jonathan's mind, Gwen had said something about someone coming for them. Now, the plant which had died with Kaiden had suddenly come alive. What if?
No! He shook his head to get rid of such thoughts. Kaiden couldn't be alive, there was no way he was alive. Kaiden was dead, he had to be.
...... KAIDEN'S APARTMENT......
Kaiden opened his eyes after cultivating and checked that his spiritual energy had come up a bit.
He could feel his plant, his company and all his properties. Anytime Kaiden purchased or built something, he always infused his energy in them so he could always be connected to them. Tia had called it a narcissistic habit, now he was glad he had done it.
From what he could feel, nobody had been able to use his production plant since he died. Neither could anyone enter his estate. He smiled to himself, Jonathan and the mayor must have been very frustrated when they couldn't access his things.
He could feel that the plant was on, it didn't yet have power to start production since he was still too weak. He couldn't even shut it down as well.
As he grew powerful, the plant would have more power. Kaiden smirked, he would let the plant get more powerful and then when it was able to start production, he would turn it off.
He could just imagine how furious Jonathan would be when that happened.
He observed his energy again, he would need to get pills and crystals necessary for his cultivation in order to get more powerful.
