The train arrived at its destination with a gentle, rhythmic stop. I disembarked with a quiet sigh, my footsteps echoing as I made my way towards the familiar yet distasteful place the Dursleys called home. The journey had been long, but I was determined to see this through. As I walked, my mind wandered. The past few days had been filled with strange, new experiences, and today, I intended to test some of the fanon knowledge I had accumulated over the years—especially the idea of summoning a Potter family elf.
It was a quiet, windy afternoon as I strolled through a deserted area on the outskirts of the town. The roads were nearly empty, the only sounds being the distant chirp of birds and the rustle of leaves in the breeze. A perfect spot to test something a bit... embarrassing.
I stopped and scanned my surroundings carefully, ensuring that no one would see or overhear my actions. I was all alone—good. I let out a quiet sigh of relief. This would be a bit awkward, but as the saying goes, "for science."
With a deep breath, I reached into my robes and pulled out my wand, holding it out before me. I spoke with all the solemnity I could muster, even though I felt a bit ridiculous. "I, Harry James Potter, heir of House Potter, order the Potter family elves to appear before me."
For a moment, nothing happened. The silence was oppressive, and I could feel the weight of my own words pressing down on me. I waited, hoping that the magic would work, but there was no sign of anything unusual. Then—
☉_☉ ...Caw... Caw...
I froze, my heart skipping a beat. It was just a bird. A crow, to be exact. Oh, the embarrassment! I had expected more, but nothing had materialized. Maybe I wasn't quite using the right approach.
I exhaled sharply, trying to push aside the awkwardness. I wasn't giving up just yet. Not when there was so much on the line. I straightened myself, gathered my resolve, and once again held out my wand, speaking a bit more confidently this time.
"I am Harry James Potter, heir to House Potter, the Boy Who Lived, the vanquisher of You-Know-Who. Is there any free elf out there willing to serve me, and by extension, House Potter?"
Again, nothing happened. I cringed at the sound of my own words. The long title, the unnecessary self-promotion—it felt so strange. But I reminded myself that this was all in the name of knowledge. There was no shame in testing things, right?
And then, just as I was about to give up and abandon the whole idea, a sudden, unexpected sound echoed through my mind.
[Ding!]
A notification from the system. My eyes widened as the realization dawned on me. I had almost forgotten about it—this mysterious system that had activated within me. My pulse quickened as I saw that I had received a message.
[System successfully activated]
[You have a message from God.]
I stared at the screen in confusion. The system had been quiet until now, and I didn't exactly expect a "message from God." But, somehow, it felt appropriate. Maybe this was the key to unlocking everything.
"Please don't give me any bad news," I muttered under my breath, unsure of what to expect.
I opened the message with a mixture of dread and curiosity, bracing myself for whatever was coming next.
[Brat, while it is entertaining to watch you make a fool of yourself, being the kind God I am, I decided to help you.
I'm impressed that you didn't give up even after death made things difficult for you. You did well; the guy needed a blow to his over-inflated ego. (Just don't die; otherwise, you won't have a pleasant time here.)
So, your truly has generously granted you some gifts for your journey. Enjoy.
P.S: You're pronouncing 'heir' wrong, you imbecile. Don't try, just check the gifts I sent you.]
I stared at the message in shock. First, the ridicule from "God" was definitely unexpected, and second—'heir'? How had I mispronounced it? Was that really what had been happening this entire time?
Feeling a rush of both embarrassment and intrigue, I quickly refocused my attention on the system's notification. There was no use in trying to figure everything out now, especially not with the mystery still hanging over me. Besides, "God" had said it was time to check the gifts. I needed to focus on that instead.
"System, show me the gifts," I ordered, trying to push past my self-consciousness.
[Ding!
Opening gifts...]
1. Loyal Butler:
Your own personal super house elf butler, completely loyal to the host.
2. Observe (lvl. max):
The wet dream of every system user. The ability to observe everything you can see, and those hidden from the world.
]
I couldn't help but ignore the system's sarcastic remarks. Seriously, I wasn't some peeping Tom—though, I had to admit, the ability to see things others couldn't would be... useful.
"System, receive both gifts," I ordered, excitement and curiosity bubbling up inside me.
The moment I gave the command, the air seemed to shift around me. I blinked, and there, standing before me, was a house elf. But not just any house elf. No, this one was different. He was taller, more muscular, and carried himself with a calm, cool demeanor. His eyes, sharp and intelligent, looked at me with an expression of respect. This was no ordinary house elf. This was something... much more.
I couldn't resist activating my newly acquired Observe ability, eager to understand just what I was dealing with. As I focused on him, I saw an overwhelming amount of information flash before my eyes.
[A house elf, personally created by God himself.
He will always be 100% loyal to the host.
He is intelligent and skilled enough to serve as an all-purpose butler, assistant, and servant to the host.
He has max-level affinity with space.]
I blinked at the information. This elf was different in every conceivable way. I was practically speechless, my mind racing to process the implications. A loyal butler, created by God? With the ability to manipulate space itself? This was beyond anything I had expected.
"Greetings, Master. I await your orders," the house elf said, bowing respectfully, his voice smooth and elegant.
"Your name will be Alfred from now on," I said, regaining some of my composure. "Now tell me—can you stay within the fabrics of space and affect the outside world with your magic, if you wish?"
Before I could even blink, Alfred disappeared from my sight. I felt a flicker of movement around me, and then, as if by magic, my glasses were repaired, the tiny crack vanishing completely. He reappeared in front of me, looking unruffled.
"Yes, Master, I can indeed do as you instructed."
I couldn't help but smile. This was incredible. "Yes!... Alfred, call me sir, not master," I said, feeling uncomfortable with the title "master." I would have preferred something else. Things might have been different if a beautiful girl had said it, but let's not dwell on that.
"Alfred, stay within the fabric of space when we are not alone and always follow me," I commanded, my excitement growing.
Finally, I made my way toward the Dursleys' house. The walk felt long and uncomfortable, but I had to get through this. When I arrived, the Dursleys, as expected, silently let me in. They ignored me completely, as though I didn't even exist. It was just the way I preferred it.
I went straight to my room and cleared it of all of Dudley's belongings, dumping them unceremoniously in front of his door. With a satisfying click, I locked my door behind me. I called Alfred in a low voice, making sure to be discreet.
"Alfred, don't use any magic in this house. There are wards to detect it."
As I entered the house, I observed the wards with Observe. There were magic detection wards, dark-magic detection, anti-apparation wards, and blood wards, all of which were powered by my magic. I knew I needed to deal with these problems as soon as possible. The sooner, the better.
