Chereads / This Protagonist Is A Bit Sick! / Chapter 3 - A Fool And A White Lotus

Chapter 3 - A Fool And A White Lotus

Dropping the leftover stones in his right hand into the water, Uncle Liu who has just cheated a few youngsters internally sneered.

Heh. A bunch of kids who haven't grown their public hair-

Arriving at this point, Liu Xun's thought process abruptly stopped. Wordlessly, he looked down and immediately fell silent.

Sh*t, he hasn't grown any either!

"... Thank you."

Recalling that the poor kid was still there, Liu Xun temporarily suppressed his dissatisfaction. Clearing his throat he attempted to sound as majestic as possible.

"Now that things are resolved, leave."

Realizing that he was being chased away, the boy briefly went quiet before cautiously asking, "May I know my benefactor's name?"

"No."

Helping him get out of that sticky situation was as far as Liu Xun could go. He had no intention of revealing his name or appearance and got himself involved with unnecessary people.

His voice left no room for negotiation which made the boy give up reluctantly. In a polite and well-behaved manner, he bid farewell, "I apologize if my words had offended you, I will be taking my leav-Ah!"

Hearing the boy's sudden cry of pain, Liu Xun was startled. Before his brain could process the situation, his body had already reacted and rushed out from the hiding spot to look over.

On the bank, a little child was seen crouching down while covering his ankle.

Liu Xun who has been living in a peaceful era not long ago didn't suspect anything and quickly rushed over to check on him.

"What's wrong?" He asked with a sense of urgency.

With his head bowed, the boy weakly responded, "I-I think... I sprained my ankle..."

Liu Xun's expression immediately became grave. Not wanting to startle the child, he unconsciously softened his voice while trying to peel off the boy's hands from the injured area, "Let me have a look."

Fortunately, the other party didn't make a fuss and obediently loosened his grip.

Seeing the bruise and swelling area, Liu Xun furrowed his brows.

"Did those guys do this to you?"

The boy didn't reply. He merely bowed his head deeper so Liu Xun took it as a yes.

Damn, I shouldn't have let those brats get away so easily after injuring someone to this extent.

Little did Liu Xun know, it was actually this harmless child who broke his own leg just to lure him out.

It was impossible for Wan Yu to obediently walk away without doing anything.

If things were to play out as it went in the past then he should be pushed into the water and watched those three walk away with a laugh.

With a recording stone hidden in his sleeve, Wan Yu was prepared to capture everything but his plan was disrupted by this guy who came out of nowhere.

Nonetheless, he did not think that the current development was bad.

It was a good thing for him to realize earlier on about this potential threat.

Forming a plan on how to get close to this person, Wan Yu tried his luck with this cheap trick but he had to admit that the result was much better than he anticipated.

Maintaining his character, he kept his head lowered and patiently waited for the other party to lower his guard.

With his limited vision, Wan Yu could only see pale and bony hands gently grabbing his forearm.

Since the other party came straight out of the water, his hands were wet and extremely cold. Wan Yu could even feel the chill seeping from his body once he leaned down to check his leg.

Based on those hands, he shouldn't have practiced any martial arts.

However, being able to accurately hit someone with no spiritual energy or martial arts skills, this person was not simple.

Taking advantage of the other person being distracted by his injury, Wan Yu tilted his head and swept his eyes in his direction.

Almost instantly, Wan Yu averted his eyes in a hurry. His temples fiercely jumped.

This idiot! Why didn't you put some pants on?!

The poor Uncle Liu whose head was preoccupied with checking the injured child was not in the mood to dress himself properly before coming over. As a result, he didn't realize that not only his merit was not praised but he even got called an idiot by the kid in front of him.

After determining that the child was indeed injured, Liu Xun who couldn't find the ice quickly tore a piece of cloth from his shirt and soaked it in the cold water.

Covering the swelling area with the cold fabric, Liu Xun advised, "You shouldn't move this leg for the time being to avoid worsening it."

The boy meekly nodded his head. Then as if realizing something, he hesitatingly asked, "... How do I go back then?"

At this question, Liu Xun ultimately sighed, "Wait."

He went to roughly wipe himself with a clean towel and dressed up in another set of clothes that he had brought with him.

Having realized his intention, Wan Yu patiently waited for the other side to finish tidying himself.

A few moments later, Wan Yu watched as a pair of dirty shoes slowly stopped in front of him.

He then knelt on one knee...

His expression abruptly froze. Figuring out what this fool was trying to do, he almost broke out of his character and strangled this idiot to death.

How can a previously renowned number one sword cultivator bear be lifted in a princess carry by a random person like this?!

As it turned out... To achieve his purpose, Wan Yu could really sacrifice himself. Enduring the shame, he silently wrote down a line in his little black book.

Feeling the child in his arms stiffen, Liu Xun reassured while he was about to lift him, "Don't worry, I won't dro-"

Before the words could even be spoken out, Liu Xun suddenly stumbled forward due to inertia and his lack of strength.

Liu Xun: "..."

Wan Yu: "..."

Awkwardly clearing his throat and Liu Xun tried to defend himself, "Cough, I haven't eaten anything yet so I am a bit weak but don't worry, I seriously won't drop yo-"

For a second time, the rest of his words were firmly lodged in his throat the moment he glanced down and met with a small exquisite face that looked like a fairy child.

This face slowly overlapped with a certain person in Wu Jing's memory.

Before his brain could react, his body had already responded and Liu Xun instinctively tossed him away like a hot potato. Instantaneously, his collar got tightly grabbed and their gazes collided.

Realizing what he almost did to this little ancestor, Liu Xun's back broke out in cold sweat.

"Big brother, be careful. I almost thought that you were trying to throw me away."

Wan Yu seriously wanted to praise himself for his good temper. Despite consecutive offenses, he hasn't snapped this guy's neck yet.

Liu Xun seemed to perceive his dissatisfaction and quickly diverted the topic, "... You are imagining things. Where are you staying?"

Seemingly convinced by his poor excuse, the boy no longer pursued the topic and pointed in a certain direction, "Just follow this path."

Despite not wanting to stay in the same space as this little ancestor, Liu Xun mustered his strength and walked at a quick pace.

Wu Jing and Wan Yu didn't cross paths while staying in the Heavenly Sect.

It was the former who secretly went to check the latter's face to see what his opponent looked like.

Just like the rest of the novels, the male and female protagonists' beauty was top-notch. If the latter were to be a beauty that could cause a country's downfall then the former was otherworldly and unparalleled.

His cold and unapproachable aura made others long for his affection even more. Even the female protagonist who has seen all kinds of beauty in her previous life couldn't take her eyes away from Wan Yu.

Although this was all in the future, Wan Yu as a child still looked like a fairy whose face was hard to forget.

At this moment, Liu Xun wanted to look at the sky and ask the Gods who were lazing in heaven out loud.

Do you think this situation is funny?! Laozi merely came out to take a bath and somehow ran into the male lead like a female lead?! What's wrong with all of you?!

While crying inside, the two finally reached Wan Yu's room. Before Liu Xun was able to heave a sigh of relief, the door suddenly opened from the inside.

Standing in the doorway was a tall and handsome man clothed in a set of white robes. His long black hair was half tied by a simple jade hairpin while the rest flowed down like a waterfall almost reaching to his knees.

A faint fragrance of sandalwood drifted over along with a sense of coldness exuding from his whole person.

His beautiful face seemed to be covered with a layer of frost and coupled with his aloof attitude he gave off the impression of a celestial being overlooking the world from the top.

As a person who came from the earth, Liu Xun was completely dazzled by this person's beauty and outstanding aura to the point that he only woke up thanks to the little protagonist's voice.

"Shizun!"

Hearing this, Liu Xun's eyes were wide open almost to the size of a goose egg.

Wu Jing has never seen Elder Chen. Even in the novel, he never made his appearance in person except for being mentioned a few times by the male protagonist.

Therefore, Liu Xun imagined Elder Chen to be even older than Elder Su with a head full of gray hair, wrinkled skin, and walking with a hunched back.

His hobby would be practicing Taichi in the morning, looking after his small garden, raising a few cats and dogs, eating healthy foods, chanting sutra, mediating, and grumpily scolding his disciples for not doing their chores correctly as any old man would do.

Now you are telling me that this immortal-looking twenty-something person who came straight down from heaven is Elder Chen?!
