Chapter 23 - Come to mama

Lord Asmodeus watched as the scene diminished before his eyes and soon found himself in the dark again. He looked around him, not sure where to go or how to navigate his way around the dark place. Then, another light glowed off in the distance somewhere, of which he rushed to it. This time, it was a scene of his wife's chamber with her seated in a chair weaving a shawl. His prying eyes stared intently at the beautiful features of her face and worried lines drawn over her forehead as she continued to weave and hummed a tune he was not familiar with. Then her room began to rumble, startling her. She scanned around the room in shock and rose to her feet darting her eyes aimlessly about. Just then, some men barged into her room unannounced.

"My queen I'm sorry for the intrusion but we have to take you away from here to safety." One of the men explained as they held her, dragging her along with them.

"Wait. What is going on here?" She struggled to peel herself from their strong grip.

"My queen, I suggest you comply and let us take you out of here please." The man whom spoke at first reasoned with a pleading look on his face.

"No." Queen Ravana shook her head. "I demand you tell me what is happening right now." She aggravated commanded. The building shook again and she lost her balance, but was caught in time by the men. Her piercing gaze pierced into the man's eyes as she waited for an answer. The men looked at themselves and then to the man to proceed.

He sighed.

"My queen it's your son and the king." As soon as he said that, the queen quickly fell into panic.

"Where? Tell me now." She demanded.

"Your son's room your highness." Another one answered, which, she swiftly without alert rushed to the room. The men followed along with her, chasing after the poor mother and wife trying to reach her destination in the huge palace.

Ravana's heart pumped hard against her chest, a million things swirling in her mind of all the bad things that could be happening now. Her son, her husband. She thought and barged into the room that only welcomed her with the view of her husband lying defenseless on the floor and her son, looking like the god of evil towering over the poor man. "No!" She screamed atop of her voice and rushed to her husband's side, embracing the man's head against her bosom protectively.

"Eliot." She cried, fearfully staring at her son's hand burning ragingly with fire. Was he planning to burn his father alive? Ravana thought, her eyes suddenly welling up. "Son, please." She pleaded and tightly pressed Lord Amodeus' bloody face into her bosom. "Please. Look at me my son. Your mother begging you to spare your father's life." She continued, a tear trickling down her eye. "Please son. I love you and I love him to. Do not be the monster they fear you are." She shook her head hard at the mention of the word, monster. It hurt her deeply.

Lord Asmodeus, limply raised his hand and tenderly touched Ravana's face, only painting the blood over her smooth textured cheek. "Ravana." He called. The queen gazed down at him and gave him an assuring painful smile. "Shhh." She place her finger over his hot lips. Stared back at her son whom was still raging with his hand still burning furiously with fire. His jaws grinned against each other, nose flaring with red raging eyes. "Son, please."

"I'm not your son." Eliot roared and threw his arm away, allowing the fire to flee his hand to the door. The entrance instantly caught fire and the guards whom had gathered there began to run Pell-mell, the unlucky ones whom were subjected to the merciless bites of the fire began screaming atop of their lungs. Queen Ravana scanned around the room in disbelieve and sorrow as her own subjects fell victims to her son's evil deeds. She wailed.

"Eliot please." She cried and gently rose, advancing towards the boy slowly. Eliot backed away snarling menacingly at the woman to back off. However, her stubborn highness would not budge. He averted his gaze not daring to stare into the eyes of this woman whom only showed nothing but an immense affection towards him. 'No. Don't let her touch you.' The darkness warned. His read eyes dilated into blue and back to red repeatedly. It occurred to the woman that her son, Eliot, was somewhere in there of this monster. All she needed to do was help him fight his way out. The darkness was wildly swirling around the boy and the queen bravely inched further into it, now standing a step away from him.

"Eliot, son. Mama is here for you. Just listen to nothing but my voice." She hummed. These were the lyrics to a song she used to sing him when he was just a child. She continued. "My little sunshine, come to mama. I, your forever love. Waiting here for you. Come to mama. I'm here always for you." She sang, all the while as her tears fell.

"No." He shook his head and backed away. "Go away." He snarled at the woman, whom stubbornly kept coming closer. "I said go away." He taunted and covered his eyes to prevent himself from hearing her voice.

"Don't shut me out son." She pleaded and continued to sing. "Mama is here for you. Just listen to nothing but my voice. My little sunshine, come to mama. I, your forever love. Waiting here for you. Come to mama, I'm here always for you." She walked closer to him and slowly yet steadily and gently embraced the boy whom only now let himself fall into the warmth only a mother could give. Ravana heaved a deep sigh of relief and looked around the room now filled with smoke. The distraction had grown so intense that she failed to even realize they were in a very risky situation now. She watched as the men tried to extinguish the fire, but it only kept blazing fiercer the more water they added to it. Her worry soon returned and she in a panicky mood with her shivering hand pulled the blade out of her son's back. "Augh." He groaned and instantly fell unconscious in her arms, the fire also dying instantly with him. Ravan cried as his heavy form laid unmoving in her arms.
