Under the moon's ethereal azure light, laid a mass of debris in the middle of a giant forest.
Somewhere near the debris a figure materialized, seemingly out of the void itself creating slight ripples in the space nearby.
Naturally it was Shen, after reflecting about the recent incident for a while he had decided to take a walk back to his home.
The night was still young when Shen started walking towards his abode.
Why was Elder Huang going to such lengths for him?
What was the Nascent Realm?
Why was there no clue in Shen's memories?
Plagued by questions Shen's mind kept pondering on the possibilities, however he couldn't reach any definite conclusion about the implications these events would have on him.
" aaaaooooo ..." A weak moan bought Shen's mind back to reality as he looked around.
In the darkness a figure's silhouette could be seen amongst the dense forest, without wasting any time Shen's mind casted an effect on himself and the entire world brightened in front of his pupils.

Amongst the bushes, a small and fragile puppy was standing.
The poor little thing was wet all over and shiver, it probably got swept away in some lake and ended up lost in the forest.
It's fur was jet black and it's nose had a small patch of white fur around it.
His legs were shaking and it had a frightened expression expression masked by fierce eyes.
Shen felt bad for this little creature and wanted to help it out, coupled with his Earth background.
However looking at the frightened puppy he figured that it would try to resist him, thus Shen switched to creative mode.
In creative mode, nothing could hurt him physically he didn't need to worry about the puppy's resistance.
With a slight smile on his face, Shen put his hands forward to grab the puppy.
" Woof! Woof! Bark! Bark!" seeing two foreign things move towards him, the puppy became extremely frightened and started to retaliate as if trying to threaten this invader.
However it's body was out of energy and seemed extremely weak.
As Shen's arms grasped it's body it tried to bite him a few times but to no avail.
It was as if biting on nothingness, which left the fragile dog in bewilderment for a few breaths.
As if in amazement, the little pup's eyes shone in a bit of excitement however it still remained vigilant of the creature who had grabbed him.
The little puppy stopped resisting, as if accepting the fact that he wouldn't be able to escape and started to snuggle into Shen's chest.
After moving a little, the puppy found itself a warm space between Shen's robes.
" Hisss...," as soon as the puppy entered Shen's robes, Shen could feel the puppy's body.
It was freezing cold.
Without a doubt, Shen started to feel pity for this fragile little dog.
If he hadn't encountered it tonight, it would've probably become a corpse by the morning.
" Very well then little guy, you're coming home with me," Shen didn't take much time before deciding to pet this little puppy.
Maybe it was the depressing and thoughts from the recent incident with Elder Huang or the loneliness Shen was feeling for a while, maybe it was just affection stemming from pity. But Shen felt close to this little puppy, he wanted to help it and so he did.
After a while, the little puppy fell asleep within Shen's robes as Shen himself switched his gamemode.

Speaking of, having a little puppy cuddling inside your robes felt rather ticklish.

After about half an hour, Shen reached the pig breeding grounds as the stench of filth infiltrated his nose.
Even the little puppy who was out cold earlier flinched a little under this unbearable stench.
" Urgh....No wonder nobody wants this place, It's simply too disgusting," Shen made an ugly face as the wholesomeness of meeting his new pet dissipated, now replaced by the torment of filth.
" Thankfully, there's a talisman on my font door, otherwise I wouldn't even be able to cultivate without getting disturbed by this unbearable stench!"
Shen's house was still about two hundred steps away, however even this small distance seemed like a huge highway connecting continents overseas.
Shen could only curse as he neared his house.

Upon discovering Shen's figure the pigs in the vicinity were startled and started to make noises around him, although they seemed careful not to approach Shen, they kept grunting from a distance.
" Maybe It's because I'm a cultivator that they don't dare approach me...," Shen could only guess, however his guess seemed to be true as the pigs would always move out of his way as he approached his house.
Unsurprisingly Shen soon reached his little house and swung the door open.
The insides were the same as he had left them, after looking around the room, Shen started to eye the pill box laid upon the table inside.
Near the table was a small bed meant for one person.
Although the room didn't have much furniture except for a wooden bed, a table, a small structure to meditate on and a cupboard, those themselves were made of extremely strong and exquisite wood.
Even an Emperor could only dream of having such luxurious looking furniture, the bed itself was engraved with precious jewels and riches.
The mattress was made entirely out of smooth jade like silk which would give one a heavenly sleep.
Shen slowly disrobed and put his robes away, revealing a muscular upper body.
As he removed his robes, the sleeping puppy came out and was placed on the bed by Shen.
He then proceeded to cover the puppy with a blanket and himself wore a pair of simple looking clothes.
Unlike his previous outer disciple uniform which gave an extravagant and tranquil temperament to Shen, these clothes made him look like a normal mortal relaxing at night.
Once he was done changing into his new set of clothes, Shen started to explore his house.
There was a small room with a peaceful aroma in it and a small seat was in the middle of the room.
It seemed like a room meant for cultivation, although it didn't have any formation or talismans to boost cultivation it was still sound-proof which gave it a peaceful aura.
As Shen kept exploring, he found a small bathroom and a kitchen.
It was a pretty cozy and quiet place, in fact Shen liked it very much.
"If it weren't for the pigs outside, it would make this a perfect place to live," Shen couldn't help but lament in his heart.
After moving around a little and exploring his new residence, Shen finally came back to the small table in his room.
" The Meridian Repairing Pill, it's finally time to repair my body it's too uncomfortable to not be able to use qi," A greedy light shone in Shen's eye as he grabbed the Pill box and rushed to the meditation room.
As soon as he entered, Shen locked the room from the inside and looked around a little before sitting down on the meditation platform cross-legged.
Inventory
Shen's mind was transported to a void-like space where hundreds of alchemy items, recipes, pills, techniques stood frozen, it was as if they were completely isolated of reality itself.
Although Shen had already used the inventory a few times before he couldn't help but feel a chill within his heart.
" No.... I've already passed that time of torment, this inventory is merely a tool for me now...," Shen started muttering to himself, jokes apart he feared this place.
It had been too much of a torment, he never wanted to experience that again.
Although his mind had been tempered, the tempering itself gave him chills.
After a while Shen's mind withdrew from the inventory and a few pill boxes appeared out of nowhere creating a weird sound of ripple.

Dozens of pill boxes gathered around Shen as he calmed himself down.
" Tch, it's just an empty void, how dare I get chills due to it. It's already over anyways, I'm already it's master," through repeating such sentences, Shen calmed his thoughts which were pulling him within.
Nonetheless looking at the pills near his a light shone in his eyes as he opened a Meridian Repairing Pill and swallowed it.
The pill immediately melted within Shen's mouth and a cool and uplifting sensation filled his body.
