When Aunt Rong caught wind of Georgia's situation, she reluctantly abandoned the pancakes and instead warmed up a cup of milk. However, Georgia's appetite had vanished. After nibbling on a single steamed dumpling, she couldn't force herself to eat anymore.
Aunt Rong made another attempt to encourage her. "How about trying one more steamed dumpling? They're not greasy..."
But as soon as those words left her lips, Georgia's complexion took a sharp turn. She abruptly rose from her seat and bolted for the bathroom, where she promptly retched into the toilet.
She had just vomited up a steamed dumpling she had struggled to consume moments ago.
Aunt Rong patted her back, growing increasingly concerned. "Is this... morning sickness?"
Georgia was stunned by the suggestion. How could that be possible?
Aunt Rong hesitated before tentatively suggesting, "But you do have some of the symptoms..."
Georgia straightened up and rinsed her mouth, a sense of emptiness gnawing at her.
Could it be true?
She turned to Aunt Rong and took a deep breath. "Aunt Rong, I'll go to the hospital for a check-up today. That way, I'll know for sure."
"Alright, I'll go with you..."
Georgia offered a gentle smile but politely declined. "No need, aren't you visiting your granddaughter this afternoon? I can go by myself."
"Well, do you want to tell Young Master about this?" Aunt Rong inquired.
"No," Georgia said decisively. "I'll inform him once I have the test results."
Accepting her response, Aunt Rong nodded. "That seems like a prudent course of action."
Back in her room, Georgia gathered her things and prepared to head to the hospital. If she was indeed pregnant at this point, she wasn't quite sure how to proceed.
Exiting the villa compound, she strolled down the pathway and was about to hail a taxi when, unexpectedly, an orange taxi pulled up.
The driver's side window rolled down, revealing the friendly face of a middle-aged man. "Where to, miss?"
Georgia put away her phone and replied, "I'm heading to the hospital."
The driver offered a warm grin. "Hop in."
Without hesitation, Georgia opened the door and climbed into the taxi.
The car started to move, and as the driver peered at her through the rearview mirror, he inquired, "Which hospital are you going to?"
Georgia hesitated momentarily. Before she could answer, the driver continued, "Are you going to the doctor by yourself?"
Georgia nodded, replying simply, "Yes, for a check-up."
"Alright, I know a great hospital," the driver said, confidently tapping the steering wheel. "Jinghua Hospital, is clean and top-notch."
Although Georgia had heard of the hospital before, she couldn't recall any other options at this moment. So, she agreed, "That sounds good."
After all, her visit to the hospital was solely for a routine gynecological examination.
As the car journeyed for more than 20 minutes, Georgia glanced at the time and noticed that they were veering onto unfamiliar roads. She couldn't help but ask, "Driver, are we there yet?"
Simultaneously, she felt a growing unease. It seemed like they had traveled a significant distance away from the city.
The driver offered a reassuring smile. "We'll be there soon."
Georgia's anxiety surged. She considered the possibility that she might have stepped into an unregistered taxi, contemplating whether to disembark prematurely. But just as she was about to make a decision, she spotted a building that closely resembled a hospital.
As they drew closer, Georgia confirmed that it was indeed a hospital—Jinghua Hospital.
