Chapter 113 - A Game of Hearts

Witnessing the group's initial hesitance, Meng Zihan decided to be the catalyst for a change. "Hasn't everyone thought of a few fun games? Let's break the ice and play together!"

With Meng Zihan's suggestion, the atmosphere began to lighten, and the initial apprehension gradually dissipated.

The mastermind behind the games was none other than Dadong, a charismatic figure in the department. He couldn't contain his excitement as he unveiled the first game. "Our inaugural game is the mouth-to-mouth card pass!"

The moment those words left his lips, the group erupted into a cacophony of astonishment.

Georgia furrowed her brows, recognizing this as a game that had gained popularity on a small video app. Participants passed cards from mouth to mouth, and any accidental drops resulted in playful consequences.

Dadong clapped his hands enthusiastically, directing everyone to form a circle. He insisted that the boys and girls sit facing away from each other.

Georgia found herself in an awkward predicament, her mind a swirl of uncertainty. She was sandwiched between two young men, and the very idea of accidentally kissing one of them left her flustered.

As the atmosphere became increasingly animated, a voice from the neighboring group interrupted. "Mr.Jack..."

Turning their attention to the source of the voice, they saw Jack strolling in their direction, accompanied by Du Yue and several other members of the president's office.

Jack was clad in a military green casual outfit that accentuated his perfectly sculpted physique, exuding an aura of irresistible charm. Georgia's heart fluttered as she watched him approach.

Lan Jie stepped forward, greeting him with a warm smile. "Mr.Jack, what brings you here?"

"Our president's office doesn't have many attendees, so we decided to join your administrative department," Jack replied, his gaze sweeping over the crowd. He inquired, "Are you all playing a game?"

Dadong nodded enthusiastically. "Mr.Jack, would you like to join us?"

Jack appeared more relaxed than usual, and he nodded in agreement. "Sure, I could use some relaxation. Let's play together."

His words elicited cheers from some individuals at the bottom. A few girls from the administrative department were nervous yet excited at the prospect.

Seating himself alongside the president's office staff, Jack inquired, "What kind of game is this?"

Dadong, with a grin, explained, "It's a popular game called 'mouth-to-mouth card pass' that has gained traction recently."

Jack's gaze darkened as he raised his eyes, casting a subtle glance in Georgia's direction. A faint smile tugged at his lips as he questioned, "Do you always play such thrilling games?"

Dadong played along, saying, "It's all in good fun!"

Sitting on the opposite side of the circle, Georgia's heart sank. If Jack didn't raise any objections, wouldn't it be incredibly embarrassing for them to sit together and partake in such a game?

Jack smiled and turned to Sister Lan, inquiring, "Is Lan in charge of organizing this?"

Sister Lan remained seated, shaking her head with a smile. "This is more of a young people's game. I'll pass this one."

Jack chuckled and rose from his seat. "Indeed, it's a game for the younger generation. If you're married, there's no need to push yourselves. Those who don't wish to participate shouldn't feel obligated."

With these words, some of the participants who were married immediately stood up and retreated to the sidelines.

Georgia couldn't help but smile as she stood up and moved to the side.

Jack gracefully stepped aside as well.

Dadong looked surprised and questioned, "Mr. Jack, why are you leaving?"

Jack's eyes gleamed as he hooked his lips. "I'm already married."

This revelation landed like a bombshell, leaving the entire group in a stunned silence. Several of the girls who had harbored expectations and hopes felt their dreams crumble into disappointment.

Jack's presence changed the dynamics of the game dramatically. The excitement that had initially filled the air seemed to dwindle, leaving behind a mixture of relief, disappointment, and curiosity.

As Jack settled into his seat, he became an observer rather than a participant. Georgia, too, was grateful for the unexpected turn of events. She couldn't imagine the awkwardness of sharing such an intimate moment with him, even if it was just a game.

The atmosphere, though somewhat subdued, soon regained its lively momentum as the game commenced. Participants passed the cards from mouth to mouth, and laughter filled the air as a few mishaps occurred. The playful antics and good-natured teasing helped break the ice further.

Georgia couldn't help but steal glances at Jack from time to time. He appeared relaxed and content as he watched the game unfold. It was a rare sight to witness him in such a light-hearted mood, and she found herself drawn to his magnetic presence.

As the day wore on, Georgia realized that there was more to Jack than met the eye. Despite his imposing stature and powerful position in the company, he had a playful side that was endearing. The day's events brought them closer, as they shared laughter and camaraderie with their colleagues.

As the sun began to set and the company outing drew to a close, Georgia couldn't help but reflect on the day's unexpected turns. She had come to appreciate Jack in a new light, and her initial insecurities had faded in the warmth of their shared experiences.

Little did she know that their journey together was just beginning, and there were many more surprises and challenges awaiting them on the path of love.
