Snow still covered the world outside when a man, clad in a black coat and sporting gold-rimmed glasses, strode in from the doorway.
Following him was the slightly staggering Sam, along with a group of bodyguards in suits who seemed to revolve around him like stars around the moon.
The man, not even bothering to remove his heavy coat, brushed past the elder with the snow still clinging to him and quickly made his way to Alla's side...
"Did he touch you?"
Casiano didn't even glance at the old man; his first concern was to check on Alla, fearing she might have been harmed.
Seeing him, Alla's anxious heart began to settle, "No, we were just talking. Don't worry."
The worry in Casiano's eyes only intensified, "Whatever he said, you don't have to take it to heart. Leave everything to me."
His deep, resonant voice seemed to have a soothing power, as if his mere presence could resolve any obstacle or difficulty.
