When Alla woke up, it was already night. Her eyes were so swollen from crying that she could hardly see. She rubbed her eyes, and when she opened them again, her vision was blurry. She sat on the bed for a while until her vision gradually came back to normal.
She picked up her phone and sent a message to George. [Dr. George, my eyes are blurry again.] There was no immediate response from George, so she put her phone away, got out of bed, and went downstairs.
When she reached the living room, she saw Gordon Collins and Maggie staring at each other. She glanced at the clock on the wall; it was already 10 p.m., which explained why Gordon was here.
She sighed heavily. She had originally planned to take Maggie to see Ricky today, but it was too late now. When Maggie saw that she was awake, she quickly stood up and walked over to her, asking softly, "Alla, are you hungry? I can bring you some breakfast."
