Upon reading the room number from the sign in the infirmary, she made a note of it before turning to visit the fruit shop adjacent to the hospital. She purchased two baskets of fruit. When she returned from her errand, she serendipitously encountered Maggie, who was hurrying in from the outpatient clinic.
"Alla," Maggie queried, concern lacing her voice, "why are you at the hospital? Are you suffering from heart discomfort?"
Maggie, who had hurriedly arrived to uncover deception, halted in her tracks upon seeing Alla, her anxieties shifting to concern for her friend. Alla felt a warmth spread in her chest and reassured her, "I am well. Dr. Weston summoned me to collect a few boxes of medication, hence my presence at the hospital."
