Upon hearing those words, the hand poised at her throat halted abruptly. The man single-handedly seized her neck, hoisting her from the ground. An overpowering grip constricted her airway, bringing about an asphyxiating sensation that made her heart pound and ache. Her heart failure required ample oxygen to sustain; once deprived of it, she would perish. Coupled with her already injured back making it difficult to breathe, her airway was now constricted.
She could feel the asphyxia slowly seizing her heart, making her gasp for air. However, the large hand clamping her neck gave her no respite, its grip growing stronger. With trembling hands, she attempted to tug at Casiano's sleeve, but lacked the strength. She could only weep silently, looking at Casiano, hoping he would show mercy and release her.
