As a vile of purple lifts, a woman opens her eyes to a door… A door that led to a chamber of beautiful eggs, though they were cloaked in the darkness of the cave, they slept undisturbed, till they felt the women stumbling vibrations! As she walked blindly forward, the eggs she passed slowly peeled awake! Not knowing what was happening behind her, she saw a little girl… all wrapped in a white and black goo that hung above-opened eggs!
Seeing the poor child, the woman screamed out her name while running to her embrace! To free her from her bindings… As the child woke to the gentle touch filled with love, she screamed:
[Kipley!] to the chorus of blooming flowers!
Hearing the child's voice filled Kipley with overwhelming joy, but then the child screamed:
[AW! Behind you!]
Without even turning to look, Kipley turned to fire and burned the eggs and all the screaming face-hungers that hid amidst the rocks and grovel! As the eggs boiled by the fire, they exploded in a glorious display of gore and blood! As the fire spread, Kipley ran with the child till they heard a terrible screech! A screech so horrible and loud, Kipley knew she pissed something off that was very big!
While frozen in place, with a cold sensation running down her blood, she saw them moving through the low flickering of the fire… the burning light showed the very walls around her come to life as sleeping aliens stirred awake! Fearing the hive's pursuit, Kipley gripped the child tightly in her arms and continued to run through the tunnels burning any eggs and aliens that got in her way!
That was until she saw them… five aliens that were far taller than the rest, with great horns decorating their crowns! For they were the royal guard! Terrifying as they were, they made Kipley change course again and again in a tunnel labyrinth she didn't understand.
Her fire could kill the lesser one or to her notice, she found that the weaker ones would prioritize the eggs rather than chase after her... Well, all expect the five! They ignore the burning of the eggs and the screaming of their sister as they run around on fire. Their sole purpose was only to kill this intruder! That was until the intruder reached that room!
With a screeching command, they stopped by the chamber gate, for even Kipley stood still shaking a bit, as she looked at an alien that made the five seem small! With a pristine black crown, that made the ones chasing her ugly in comparison. Sat the queen on her egg-laying throne!
Short Layla POV
The queen looked curiously at the intruder, as if not knowing what to make of the sudden events that just happened seeming out of nowhere… she formed many questions in her head like, how can a mere human breach this far into their hallowed home? Or better yet why wasn't this human not hanging from the wall? She looked at her subordinates her master had left her in confusion… she only stopped them out of curiosity, but after realizing the intruder was merely human. A mere vessel to be used for her children! Disappointed it wasn't something more, she raised her head to give the signal to kill this human. But that's when the human did the unforgivable!
This human set fire to her precious eggs in front of her! In her rage, Layla tried to tear herself free from her 'throne' as the human before she smiled a vicious grin.
Kipley POV
[What the hell is that!] thought Kipley to herself as she stared at the mother of the monsters that were plaguing her lands.
But as Kipley examined the monster before her, as the monster did her, she noticed the huge sack that was behind the queen, when an egg suddenly plopped out of it onto the cold cave floor. With seeing the egg came the realization that this thing was the main cause of their city's plight! And with it, she remembered all the hundreds of eggs she ran past or burned on her way here and both hatred and shock hit her all at once!
[there were enough eggs for every man, woman, and child that lived in the city! No... more than that…] thought Kipley as she continued
[I only passed a few rooms to get to this point… and if they held that many eggs... then... What about the room I have yet to see in this underground labyrinth?]
But as the shock waned, Kipley noticed the mother began moving suspiciously. Not knowing what this 'queen' was going to do, Kipley decided to make the first move! With roaring flames, she burned the eggs in front of the queen! She knew this would only piss off the mother of monsters. but who cares! The monster was already probably going to kill her anyway! And besides this thing is responsible for killing countless town folk already! Just how many human children died from it? Kipley could even fathom the number! With rage building, as she held Newt in her arms she grinned as she continued to burn the eggs!
But as she set fire to the queen who struggled to rip herself off the egg sack, the five all jumped at Kipley at the same time! But as they enclosed on her, Kipley turned to set them a flame, but not to her surprise they ignored the burns! As the heat peeled their skin away, their rage covered their pain! As their claws were but a breath away, a loud metallic screech rebated throughout the chamber!
Confused, Kipley saw the five scatters into the different tunnels, while the queen, whom the fire didn't stick to, for it was just a minor annoyance, didn't make a sound and instead bowed its head and continued laying eggs as if what Kipley had done to it meant nothing!
But then it came… through the fire like man… a shiny white alien which she had never seen before, though it was similar to the five for it had a crown and was just as big but smaller than the queen, with blades on its arms. What was more, a machine than monster seemed to command the room with more authority than the monster that bred them!
What scared Kipley the most, wasn't its looks or authority, but the fact that as the monster stood among the flames, she couldn't feel anger from it… hatred from it… sadness from it… nor did she feel curiosity from it, like the queen…
No, she couldn't describe what she was feeling, until she noticed it was never looking at her! But at Rebecca the whole time! As it looked at Rebecca in her arms, then she felt it... A weird sensation of that of a father looking at his child… but she couldn't figure out why it looked at Rebecca like that…
That is when it looked at her… that... That was the moment the deep cold washed over her! The monster didn't snarl, didn't hiss, didn't yell or bark! Hell, she couldn't even tell if the creature had eyes! But she knew it was looking at her, she felt it… and it felt colder than the voice she heard from the temple! Even the aura around the 'queen' felt warmer than this thing… this machine!
She knew the moment this thing made a move she was dead! That's what every fiber of her being told her… that this thing was more merciless than the five that chased her… more heartless than wolves or lions… and hungrier than the most ambitious man!
It was at this particular moment, that she noticed the sweat dripping down her face as her gun for whatever reason, wasn't pointing at the alien… but instead, her gun was pointed at Rebecca! Not understanding why, she looked up to see the alien become more aggressive but also passive.
As a light rang in the darkness, to the sound of a bell, that cut the tension! A bell that chimed from an elevator that shouldn't be working in a powerless cold monster nest! She noticed that the alien was just as shocked as she was as a crappy song played on repeat that only a goblin would find enjoyable. As she kept her weapon firmly placed against Rebecca, much to her discomfort, the elevator doors opened to an eerie black mist that seemed to irritate the alien.
As she slowly stepped onto the elevator, she stared at the alien in front of her as it was burning the image of herself in its mind. She knew this wasn't over and that someday this thing would come for her, but now wasn't the time to fight, not that she could win, but for Rebecca's safety.
But as she went up that elevator, Rebecca looked at her and asked:
[why didn't it come after us? Why did it let us go?]
[I don't know//] replied Kipley as she too wanted to know why but couldn't figure it out.
As the elevator doors opened to a breezy cold on top of the mountain, Rebecca suddenly whimpered:
[my chest hurts…]
[It hurts?] replied Kipley confused
[It HURTS!] cried Rebecca as she began coughing out blood.
As Rebecca cried, Kipley's brain zoomed out to the memory of her captain saying:
[Monsters are capturing people? Why would they do that…]
Then her memory switches to the time in the cabin incident. Then to the old man coughing out blood on the tuck! She then thought of the eggs, then to the humans that hung on the wall of the cave with a hole in their chests! Then her mind landed on the biggest question she had… Why didn't that white alien attack her? But then she remembered the way the alien looked at Rebecca… and it all came together as Rebecca began dripping tears of blood!
[But when was she infected?] said Kipley, to a certain passing glancing memory of dead face hunger that was by Rebecca, when she freed her!
Holding Rebecca's hand Kipley said:
[No! It wasn't supposed to be this way… that thing in the temple promised me...] said Kipley in distraught before looking up into the air and screaming:
[hey! You promise me that if I helped you, that you would save her!]
But her screaming noise landed on deaf ears. That those breezy winds carried it as an echo across the snowy mountain ranges in the dew of the morning sunrise. Not knowing what to do she held Rebecca as she stared off into the sunrise and said:
[It's beautiful Kipley… but I feel cold…]
As blood continued to pour down the edges of her mouth her chest convulsed like something was trying to come out! As Kipley's tears rain on Rebecca's sweet face, she points her gun at Rebecca as she hears a voice! A voice she recognized... The voice of a god!
[I didn't promise you that I would save her… I only said I would give you the opportunity to save her… how arrogant of you to presume that I shall help or care for you blight!]
Enrage by the voice words, Kipley demanded:
[I helped you! I did my part! Now save her!]
[That you did, and here is your reward! Ha! Our deal is done] replied the voice
[then let's make a new one!] screamed Kipley
[Ha! Under what grounds do you have to negotiate with me? Your arrogance rivals my own! You have nothing I want or need! You are but a tool that has finished its usefulness!] replied the voice
[my soul...] replied Kipley
[Ha! your human soul is worthless!] interjected the voice
[ How is it worthless?] replied Kipley
[because I already own it!] replied the voice to the shock of Kipley...
[what? When…] replied Kipley as the voice interjected
[the moment that gun fused with your body… you became mine!]
[But that wasn't part of the deal!] yelled Kipley
[That's the price for power… did you really think it would only cost you an arm… Ha! Foolish mortal…] replied the voice before continuing
[Goodbye little human! It's been fun watching you… but as I said you no longer have a use…]
[Fuck you!] yelled Kipley into the air like a madman.
[Hehe… if you need someone to hate... Then hate those aliens for what they did… don't blame me for your failure human…] replied the voice that disappeared with the wind.
[Kipley… it's ok,] said Rebecca as the alien inside her began forcing its way out!
As Kipley cried her tears, she pointed her gun a Rebecca, but to her horror, nothing came out… neither bullets nor flame! She could do nothing as a creature she hated burst out of Rebecca! Its color was different than the rest, with a symbol of diamonds on its head, with a white tint of teal blue for skin, the alien fled down the mountain!
That evil god was determined to make her suffer till the end as she set the air above her in flame but could not burn the alien that fled. Some say that to this day, that if you listen carefully. You can still hear the screams of a woman echoing in the mountain ranges in the north as she wept for her child!
