Chapter 36 - So, did you really awakened independently? (Part 2)

"Over 3,000 years ago, a great calamity struck the world, with disasters like earthquakes, hurricanes, and volcanic eruptions. Which Beast Tamer prevented this apocalypse?"

[ A. Godric ]

[ B. Rowena ]

[ C. Helga ]

[ D. Salazar ]

Questions about history like these were common, and Riley had seen many of them lately. He knew that the calamity over 3,000 years ago was not a natural disaster but a man made catastrophe caused by Salazar, an SS-level Beast Tamer. With that level he already had the power to manipulate nature.

With each awakening of the Spirit Beast, when a Beast Tamer reached the D level, they received certain benefits, which affected their lifespan and physical condition.

As their level increased, these benefits would became stronger.

It was challenging to get harmed in the aftermath unless directly attacked.

Salazar, with his SS-level Beast Tamer physique, managed to break through the encirclement during the League's pursuit, killing 223 Beast Tamers, including 11 S-level Beast Tamers.

An S-level Beast Tamer typically took at least a century to reach that level, so the League suffered significant losses because of that incident.

Later, another SS-level Beast Tamer, Helga, returned from Planet Yaitov and subdued Salazar in the battle. However, five of Helga's loyal Spirit Beasts died in that fight.

Helga subsequently disappeared from the world since then.

This question was easy to overlook, leading to the selection of option D. Riley, who had previously misread the question in the last exam, reviewed it and changed his answer this time.

"Riley, someone is looking for you," a female classmate sitting near the door called out.

Riley looked up and saw a girl in a slightly faded school uniform smiling at the door.

"It's Olivia, when did you get to know her?" Samson asked in surprise.

Olivia was a prominent figure in the school, naturally drawing the attention of his other classmates. All heads turned to see what was happening.

"I don't know her," Riley also seemed puzzled.

He followed her out.

"Is there something you want from me?" Riley asked, full of curiosity.

He was sure that his predecessor had no interaction with Olivia. One was a top student, the other a scumbag student, and they were also in different classes. With graduation was just around the corner, Riley couldn't think anything why Olivia might be looking for him.

"I want to apologize on behalf of my mom for what happened last time," Olivia said.

She had a delicate and somewhat frail appearance, probably due to malnutrition, making her seem as if she might blow away with a strong wind.

"What happened?" Riley raised an eyebrow.

"Auntie didn't tell you? Last Friday, my mom said some unpleasant things to Auntie when there were teachers around. I couldn't interject at the time. so did Auntie okay when she goes back?" Olivia spoke softly and gently.

Riley remained silent for a moment and asked, "What did your mom say?"

Olivia looked apologetic. "It was just some hurtful words. My mom didn't mean it, and Auntie said some things too. It's just that the teachers saw them about to have a fight and told Auntie to leave. I feel a bit guilty about it."

Riley said expressionlessly, "If the teacher told my mom to leave, what does it have to do with you?"

Olivia adjusted her hair. "If it weren't for me, the teacher wouldn't have asked Auntie to leave."

"I understand," Riley asked again, "What did your mom say at the time?"

Olivia lowered her head. She was shorter than Riley by half a head, and her facial expression was obscured when she looked down.

"My mom said your poor grades were because you didn't have a father to discipline you, and that you got lucky to be awakened independently. She also said Auntie was so fierce that it's no wonder she got a divorce."

She looked up with an innocent expression. "So, did you really awakened independently?"
