Marissa had woken up that morning feeling joyful and happy. The main reason for her excitement was her planned outing with Flower. It had been a long time since she had seen or been with her best friend. They usually only talked on the phone. She freshened up and dressed up in matching green dresses, with the left side slanted to expose her legs.
Her phone immediately rang, and she picked it up, thinking it was Flower.
"You are going to meet your fiancé today," Mr. Alvarado's voice came through loud and clear.
"Dad," she stuttered. She couldn't just let her outing with Flower ruined.
"You heard me correctly. Meet him at Fresh Super Restaurant. Failure to do so will have consequences," he concluded, and the call was ended.
