Chapter 29 - He back 3

Genevieve and Draven heard Olev's praise and felt delighted. They then expressed their gratitude to Olev respectfully.

"Thank you, Olev. We're really glad to hear your compliments," they both said in unison.

Olev smiled and nodded, proceeding to provide comments and feedback with constructive criticism.

"But, of course, both of you still have room for improvement," Olev gazed sharply at Genevieve and Draven. "Both of you still have some shortcomings and mistakes that need to be addressed."

Genevieve raised an eyebrow. "Such as, for example?"

"For instance, young Miss Genevieve, you're still lacking in defense," Olev swung his sword towards Genevieve. "You're too focused on attacking, so you often forget to defend or dodge your opponent's attacks," he grinned upon seeing Genevieve's surprise and retreat.

Draven leaped in front of Genevieve and parried Olev's sword with his rapier. "Hey, stop! Don't play with a sword like that, uncle!"

Olev easily pushed Draven aside. "See? This is what I mean. You also rely too much on your focal points of strength, which leaves you often drained of energy or stamina during fights," he pointed to the watch on his wrist. "You need to learn to manage the usage of your Rek Link better, so you don't easily become tired or weakened during battles." Olev sighed.

Genevieve lowered her head. "You're right, Olev. I am indeed lacking in defense." Genevieve humbly admitted.

"I frequently attack without considering my opponent's strikes. I also use Rek Link too often without managing my energy or stamina. I need to learn to be more cautious and conservative in battle," she acknowledged her shortcomings.

Olev smiled and nodded in agreement. "Alright, young lady. I appreciate your honesty." Olev provided wise advice. "I'll give you suggestions to improve your defense. Firstly, you need to be more vigilant and responsive in battles. Always observe your opponent's movements and be prepared to evade or parry their attacks." Olev extended his sword to Genevieve.

"You can practice this by sparring with Draven or me, having us attack you in various ways. Secondly, you should learn to be more flexible and creative in combat. You don't have to attack only from close range; you can also strike from a distance or the sides." Olev swung his sword left and right.

"Train in techniques you've learned from Draven or me, like change of line, change of engagement, or coupe. Thirdly, you must learn to control and optimize your Rek Link usage. You don't always need to exert full power from your sword; adjust your strength according to the situation." Olev pressed a button on his sword's hilt, causing it to shine with varying intensity.

"You can practice this gradually using Rek Link, starting from low to high levels, feeling the different effects on your sword and body." Olev advised.

Genevieve heard Olev's suggestions and felt grateful. She then thanked Olev respectfully. "Thank you, Olev. I'm very appreciative of your advice. I will try to implement the things you've said in my training," Genevieve said politely.

Olev smiled and nodded once more. He then turned to Draven and provided constructive criticism as well.

"And Draven, you also have room for improvement. You still have some shortcomings and mistakes that need to be addressed," Olev said, looking at Draven earnestly.

"For example, Draven, you lack in offense. You focus too much on defense, often forgetting to attack or threaten your opponent. You also rely heavily on strength and endurance, making you overwhelmed by your opponent's speed or precision. You must learn to be more aggressive and accurate in battle," Olev spoke honestly, fixing a sharp gaze on Draven.

Draven heard Olev's critique and felt embarrassed. "You're right, Uncle Olev. I am indeed lacking in offense. I often defend without looking for opportunities to strike my opponent." He humbly admitted his shortcomings and mistakes.

"I also frequently use strength and endurance without considering my opponent's speed or precision. I must learn to be more daring and precise in battle," Draven honestly said, lowering his head.

Olev smiled and nodded again. He then provided suggestions to Draven for improving his shortcomings and mistakes. "Alright, my nephew. I'll give you advice to enhance your offense. Firstly, you need to be more proactive in battles. Always seek openings or opportunities to attack your opponent, and don't hesitate to do so. Practice this by sparring with Genevieve or me, asking us to defend in various ways."

"Secondly, you should learn to be more versatile and dynamic in combat. You don't have to attack only from a distance; you can strike from close or the sides as well. Train in techniques you've learned from Genevieve or me, like disengage, beat, or bind."

"Thirdly, you must learn to balance and adjust your strength and endurance usage. You don't always need to exert full force; adjust it based on the situation. Train this by gradually using strength, from low to high levels, and feel the effects on your body and sword," Olev advised wisely, demonstrating sword movements.

Draven heard Olev's suggestions and felt thankful. He then thanked Olev respectfully. "Thank you, Uncle Olev. I'm very appreciative of your advice. I will try to implement the things you've said in my training," Draven said politely.

Olev smiled and nodded again. He concluded his comments by giving constructive praise.

"Alright, young lady and my nephew. I've finished giving you feedback on your earlier combat. Once again, I must say that both of you performed exceptionally well."

After concluding his feedback, Olev invited Genevieve and Draven to take a short rest by the training field. He offered them drinks and snacks, engaging in light conversation. He wanted to learn more about their lives over the past month.

Genevieve and Draven happily accepted Olev's offer. They felt thirsty and hungry after their intense fight. They also enjoyed chatting with Olev, their teacher and friend.

They then shared with Olev their experiences over the past month. They talked about their training schedules, challenges they faced, achievements they reached, and amusing or interesting occurrences. However, they chose not to mention the events in the forest to Olev.
