Chapter 30 - New match 1

Olev listened to their stories with full attention and enthusiasm. He felt pleased to hear their tales, which indicated that they had learned and grown significantly over the past month. He also enjoyed laughing and being moved together with them, revealing their strong bond formed over the past month.

Olev then provided responses and feedback to Genevieve and Draven about their stories. He gave them appropriate praise or criticism while offering them advice or motivation to keep learning and developing.

Genevieve and Draven happily accepted Olev's responses and feedback. They were glad to hear Olev's thoughts, showing his care and appreciation for them. They also appreciated receiving guidance and motivation from Olev, demonstrating his support and inspiration.

They then expressed their gratitude to Olev for his responses or feedback, while also complimenting or apologizing to Olev for their stories.

Olev smiled and thanked Genevieve and Draven for their stories, while also offering praise or apologies to them for his responses or feedback.

They continued their conversation in a more relaxed and familiar manner, enjoying the drinks and snacks provided by Olev.

After a short break, Olev invited Genevieve and Draven to resume their training on the training field. He wanted to see more progress in their rapier skills while providing more lessons or challenges.

Genevieve and Draven eagerly accepted Olev's invitation. They felt ready to continue their training, receiving more lessons or challenges from Olev.

They then stood up from their seats, gripping their rapier swords. They followed Olev to the training field, preparing to practice with him.

On the training field, Olev gave instructions to Genevieve and Draven about the exercises they would perform. He informed them that this time, he would practice alongside them, not just acting as a referee or observer. He aimed to directly train their rapier skills while providing examples and role modeling for them.

"All right, young lady and my nephew. This time, we will practice together. I will take turns being your opponent, providing you with lessons or challenges tailored to your weaknesses or mistakes. You must strive to defeat me while improving your shortcomings or errors. Are you ready?" Olev asked seriously.

Genevieve and Draven nodded confidently. They felt prepared to practice with Olev, aiming to overcome or improve themselves.

"All right, then let's begin. Who wants to step forward first?" Olev inquired while taking his rapier sword out of its sheath.

Genevieve and Draven exchanged glances, considering who would practice with Olev first. They both wanted to practice with Olev first to showcase their skills. However, they also hesitated, knowing Olev was a tough opponent not easily defeated.

Finally, Genevieve yielded and volunteered to practice with Olev first. She felt that she should give Draven a brief rest since they had just sparred. She also believed in challenging herself by practicing with Olev, aiming to prove she could defeat him.

"I'll go first, Olev. I want to see how formidable an opponent you are," Genevieve confidently stated.

Olev smiled and nodded. He then turned to Draven and instructed him. "Very well, young lady. I will be your first opponent. And Draven, you can be an observer or referee for this practice. You can provide comments or feedback to us after the practice is over," Olev said kindly.

Draven smiled and nodded as well. He stepped back a few paces and positioned himself on the edge of the training field. He prepared to watch the practice between Genevieve and Olev, giving them his full attention.

Genevieve and Olev then prepared to practice together. They took positions, holding their rapier swords firmly in their right hands. They gazed at each other sharply, measuring distance and anticipating movements.

Draven stood at the edge of the training field, holding a hourglass in his hand. He acted as the referee for the practice. He observed Genevieve and Olev closely, providing instructions.

"All right, young lady and Uncle Olev. We will conduct exercises to test both of your rapier skills. The rules are as follows: First, you must show respect and honesty during practice. Second, use your rapier swords correctly and safely, avoiding intentionally harming or injuring your opponent. Third, stop the practice when one of you declares surrender or experiences a fatal strike to a specific body part. Fourth, accept the practice outcome gracefully, without protest or excuses. Fifth, be willing to listen to advice or criticism from me or your opponent after the practice. Do you understand the rules?" Draven asked firmly.

Genevieve and Olev nodded briefly in agreement. They were familiar with these rules as they often sparred or practiced with Draven or each other.

"Very well, let's begin then. Ready?" Draven asked as he raised the hourglass.

Genevieve and Olev nodded again, indicating their readiness. They tensed their muscles, preparing to practice together.

"Start!" Draven exclaimed as he flipped the hourglass.

Genevieve and Olev immediately moved. They ran towards each other, swiftly and accurately swinging their rapier swords. The sound of their swords clashing resonated loudly on the training field, creating an exciting and tense rhythm.

Draven watched the practice with keen interest. He could see that Genevieve and Olev had different fighting styles. Genevieve relied more on speed and precision, while Olev leaned towards strength and endurance. Genevieve preferred close-range attacks, whereas Olev favored attacking from a distance. Genevieve employed agile and varied movements, whereas Olev chose stable and consistent motions.

Draven also noticed that Genevieve and Olev possessed balanced abilities. They could both attack and defend effectively, without giving their opponent openings. They could anticipate and adapt to each other's movements, maintaining concentration and vigilance. They could pressure and challenge each other, without losing spirit or confidence.
