Chapter 23 - Catastrophe 2

They walked deeper into the forest. The air grew colder and darker, and the trees became denser and more lush. They could hear the sounds of animals growing more aggressive and ominous.

Fear and unease settled in as they ventured further. The unknown lay ahead, and their only hope was that Genevieve was safe.

"Young lady, please answer us! We're worried about you!" Draven yelled again, his voice hoarse.

Suddenly, they heard Genevieve's weak and frightened voice.

"Draven... Moland... Quer... Help... I'm here..." Genevieve said, her voice trembling.

They quickly turned their gaze toward the direction of the voice. They saw Genevieve trapped between two large tree trunks. She appeared pale and bloodied, clutching her rapier tightly in her hand.

Before them stood a terrifying sight. A massive mutated bear, with disheveled black fur and blazing red eyes, stood in front of Genevieve. The bear had long, sharp fangs and claws, and it roared and growled angrily.

They realized that Genevieve had encountered the most dangerous mutated creature in the forest. She had attempted to fight the bear, but she was clearly overpowered.

They felt a mixture of terror and anger, determined to rescue Genevieve from the perilous situation. They readied themselves to face the bear.

"Young lady, hold on! We'll save you!" Moland shouted, unsheathing his sword.

"Young lady, don't be afraid! We'll help you!" Quer cried out, drawing his bow and arrows.

"Young lady, stay strong! We'll defeat the bear!" Draven declared, gripping his rapier.

With determination, they charged toward the bear, attacking from different angles with their weapons. Their hope was to drive away or defeat the bear before it could harm Genevieve further.

The wounded bear sensed the new threat from the three individuals approaching it. It grew agitated and hostile, not liking its meal being interrupted. The bear fought back with ferocity.

The bear swiped its claws at Moland, who attempted to stab its belly. It bit at Quer's neck as he aimed for its eyes. It slapped Draven's face as he tried to slash its legs.

The pain from the bear's attack was excruciating. They were sent flying back and landed on the ground with a thud. They saw deep, bleeding wounds on their bodies.

They felt weak and defeated. It was evident that they were no match for the bear's strength. They realized they might die here alongside Genevieve.

They looked toward Genevieve with a gaze filled with love and care. They wanted to apologize for not being able to save her. They wanted to bid her farewell, unable to stay with her any longer.

Genevieve gazed back at them, her eyes teary. She wanted to apologize for involving them in this mess. She wanted to express her gratitude for their love and protection.

With a loving and affectionate gaze, they held onto each other's hands tightly. They embraced warmly.

They awaited the end of their lives with a sense of calm. They were prepared for the bear's attack.

The bear looked at the helpless figures before it. It felt satisfied and triumphant. It was ready to feast on its prey.

With a loud roar and angry growl, the bear lunged at them.

Suddenly, the bear felt a sharp piercing pain in its chest. It noticed a spear impaling its heart. Blood flowed from its wound, causing intense agony.

The bear turned its attention to the source of the spear. It saw a man standing on a large rock. The man had blond hair and blue eyes, a strong and handsome build, and he held a gleaming spear.

The man was Remy, a renowned mutant creature hunter. He was an old friend of Draven's and had attended the same school. He had come to the forest to hunt mutated creatures as a means of livelihood.

Remy observed the severely wounded bear, feeling a sense of satisfaction and pride. He had successfully killed the most dangerous mutated creature in the forest.

He then noticed the four individuals lying near the bear. He recognized one of them as Draven, his long-lost friend.

Remy quickly descended from the rock and approached them. He saw their injuries and bleeding wounds, feeling shocked and worried.

"Draven! What are you doing here? Are you alright?" Remy asked anxiously.

Draven struggled to open his eyes. He saw Remy's relieved and friendly face.

He felt joy and emotion welling up. He was grateful that Remy had arrived just in time to rescue them.

"Remy... You... You came... Thank you... Thank you for saving us..." Draven said weakly.

Remy embraced Draven tightly, relieved that his friend was alive.

"No need to thank me, Draven. You're my friend, and I'll always be here for you. Now, relax. I'll take you to safety," Remy said gently.

He then turned his attention to the three others lying beside Draven. He saw a tall young man with brown hair and brown eyes, a handsome young man with black hair and blue eyes, and a beautiful girl with blonde hair and golden eyes.

He suspected that they were Draven's friends or perhaps even more than that.

He felt curious and intrigued. He wanted to know their connection to Draven and why they had come to the forest.

"Who are they, Draven? Are they your friends? This lady's servant?" Remy asked, curious.

Draven looked at the three individuals with affection. He wanted to explain to Remy who they were and what had transpired.

"They are Lady Genevieve, Moland, and Quer. Moland and Quer are Genevieve's shadows, but they're also my dear friends, even more than that. They are my precious companions," Draven said with emotion.

Remy was impressed and touched. He admired their strong bond and friendship.

"They are fortunate to have you as a friend or family. I hope they're all right," Remy said sincerely.

He then began to check their pulses one by one. He felt relieved that they were still breathing and their hearts were beating. He administered first aid by cleaning their wounds with water and cloth. He bandaged their wounds and applied ointment. He provided them with water and food to help restore their energy.

He hoped his actions would save their lives. He hoped they would regain consciousness and recover.

He carefully lifted Genevieve's body and laid her on a blanket he had brought. He covered her with the blanket to keep her warm.

He looked at Genevieve's pale and weak face. He felt sympathy and compassion, wanting to reassure and comfort her.

"Genevieve, I'm Remy, Draven's friend. I've come to help you. You don't need to be afraid anymore; the bear is dead. You're safe now," Remy said softly.

He wiped away the sweat and blood from Genevieve's forehead, planting a gentle kiss on her forehead.

"Genevieve, you're a brave and beautiful girl. I'm curious about you and your life," Remy said earnestly.

He stared into Genevieve's closed eyes, hoping she would wake up and see him. He hoped to see her smile and hear her voice.

Unbeknownst to him, he was falling in love at first sight with Genevieve. He was starting to feel something special for her.

Remy then proceeded to carefully lift Draven, Moland, and Quer's bodies. He laid them beside Genevieve, covering them with another blanket.

Remy looked at their wounded and bloodied faces. He felt guilty and saddened, regretting his delay in arriving to save them.

"Draven, Moland, Quer, I'm sorry. I came late to help you. I hope you're all right," Remy said hoarsely.

Remy retrieved his bag and searched for the magical communication device he had brought. He urgently contacted the nearest medical clinic for assistance.

"Hello, this is Remy, a mutant creature hunter. I need help immediately. I'm in the forest with four people severely injured by a mutated bear. Please send help as soon as possible," Remy said urgently.
