Remy felt offended hearing that.
"What are these other important things?" he asked curiously.
Genevieve stared into his eyes sharply.
"Things like training my sword skills, doing many tasks, and moving freely without feeling burdened, for example," she replied coldly.
Remy heard Genevieve's answer in disbelief. He couldn't accept the rejection from the girl he liked.
"Moving freely without a burden? What do you mean?" he asked confusedly.
Genevieve sighed. She felt no obligation to explain herself, nor did she want to. She believed that this desire was something she should keep to herself.
"Sorry, Remy. I can't tell you. It's a personal matter that I can't share with others," Genevieve said coldly.
Remy felt offended by it.
"So, you don't believe me? You won't share your secret with me?" he asked angrily.
Genevieve shook her head.
"Not like that, Remy. But I don't know you well enough. I can't fully trust you yet," Genevieve said honestly.
Remy felt hurt hearing that.
"So, you trust Draven more than me? You're closer to Draven than you are to me?" he asked jealously.
Genevieve looked into his eyes firmly.
"Yes, I trust Draven more than you. Yes, I'm closer to Draven than I am to you. Draven is my mentor and my friend. I've known him longer than I've known you. I've shared a lot with him. I've been through a lot with him," Genevieve said firmly.
Remy felt angry hearing that.
"So, you like Draven? You want to date Draven?" he accused.
Genevieve was surprised to hear that.
"W-what? No, I don't like Draven. I don't want to date Draven. We're just friends," Genevieve denied.
Remy didn't believe her.
"Don't lie, Genevieve. I can see it in the way you look at him. I can see it in the way you talk to him. I can see it in the way you smile at him. You clearly like him," Remy said loudly.
Genevieve felt frustrated hearing that.
"You're wrong, Remy. You're only seeing what you want to see. You're only hearing what you want to hear. You're only thinking what you want to think. You don't know anything about my feelings," Genevieve said firmly.
Remy felt challenged by her words.
"Oh, is that so? Then prove to me that you don't like Draven. Kiss me in front of him," Remy challenged.
Genevieve was shocked to hear that.
"W-what? Are you crazy? I won't do that," Genevieve said in disbelief.
Remy smiled cynically hearing that.
"See? You won't do it because you're afraid of hurting Draven's feelings. You're afraid of making him jealous and angry. You're afraid of losing him as your friend," Remy taunted.
Genevieve felt angry hearing that.
"You're mistaken, Remy. I won't do it because it's wrong and disrespectful. I won't kiss someone I just met and who just confessed their love to me without a clear reason. I won't kiss someone who's arrogant and conceited like you," Genevieve said firmly, staring at Remy with a cold, piercing gaze.
"What? Conceited?" Remy exclaimed in surprise and shock, raising his eyebrows cynically. "I'm a man desired by all women, both young girls like you and mature women. And yet you say I'm conceited and arrogant?"
Genevieve responded assertively, "Yes! You're conceited, Remy. No matter how many women desire you, if you want to have me just because you're popular among women, then you might as well choose from that group of women alone, rather than me."
"So, you're rejecting me?" Remy said in disbelief, taking a deep breath in frustration.
"Yes! It's better for you to love a girl who's infatuated with you. But if you're more interested in women who satisfy your desires, you'd better go to a brothel," Genevieve said earnestly, pointing to the exit door with an air of arrogance.
"You! You'll regret rejecting me, Genevieve. You'll regret choosing Draven over me. I will make you kiss me by force," he said threateningly, stepping closer to Genevieve with quick strides and gripping her hand tightly.
Genevieve felt scared and distanced herself from Remy. She was disgusted and frightened by Remy's aggressive and rough behavior.
"Don't touch me, Remy. Let go of me. You've been impolite and disrespectful to me," she exclaimed in fear.
Draven, Quer, and Moland, who witnessed the scene, felt angry and frustrated. They didn't like seeing Remy behaving aggressively and disrespectfully towards Genevieve. They felt that Remy had crossed boundaries and needed to be stopped.
They also stepped forward and held Remy's hand, preventing him from touching Genevieve.
"Stop, Remy. Don't be aggressive towards Genevieve. Don't be disrespectful to our young lady," Draven said firmly.
Remy felt Draven's strong grip on his hand. He felt pain and frustration as he was thwarted by Draven.
"You traitor, Draven. How dare you block me, your own friend? How dare you try to take the girl I like? You have to take responsibility for your actions," he said angrily.
Draven looked into his eyes coldly, his facial expression showing disappointment and disbelief.
"Traitor? You're the one lacking manners," he said sternly, shaking his head with a hint of sadness. "You've lost your respect."
Draven's lips curled into a sardonic smile, revealing his deep disappointment. "You've lost your sense. You've let success as a famous hunter make you arrogant," he continued mockingly, emphasizing the words with a hand gesture that conveyed Remy's pride.
He then let go of Remy's hand and pushed him back forcefully. The motion was decisive and swift, reflecting a strong rejection of Remy. "Stay away from Genevieve." Draven lifted his chin with pride, showcasing his resolute decision. "Stay away from all of us." His expression turned serious, his eyes locking onto Remy's with an unyielding attitude. "We no longer wish to be friends with you," he added firmly and loudly, showing an unwavering stance.
Remy felt his body pushed back by Draven, his gaze filled with disbelief. He felt pushed away and fell to the ground heavily. His facial expression conveyed embarrassment and hurt, as if he had experienced all of that in a single fall.
He then rose from the ground with anger, his gaze directed fiercely at Draven. Quer and Moland, standing beside Draven, also showed their anger towards Remy, their facial expressions determined and spirited.
Quer clenched his fists tightly, his eyes aflame with anger as he saw Remy rising from the ground. "You're truly shameless, Remy," he said with fiery intensity. "You've dared to hurt Genevieve, our kind-hearted and beautiful young lady." His gaze pierced Remy's eyes, his anger so strong that it felt almost tangible.
He then stepped forward and swiftly slapped Remy's cheek hard. The sound of the slap echoed loudly, reflecting the unrestrained anger. "You deserve this punishment, Remy." His voice quivered with intense emotion, his facial expression showing no mercy.
Moland followed Quer's steps, his hand gripping Remy's collar tightly. "You truly lack sense, Remy," he thundered. "You've foolishly pursued our young lady." His facial expression was brimming with uncontrollable hatred.
He then threw Remy's body against the wall with force. The rough and sudden movement depicted the pent-up anger and disappointment.
"You!" Remy shouted angrily, his gaze now directed towards Draven. "You'll regret doing this, Draven. You'll regret ending our friendship." His threat was uttered with a surge of emotions, conveying Remy's desperation and desire for revenge.
He then turned around and stormed out of the hospital lobby angrily. With a gaze full of fury, Remy left, leaving a tense atmosphere behind.
The faces of Draven and his friends still portrayed their firmness and disapproval of Remy's actions. Genevieve, who had remained silent during the altercation, finally let out a deep breath, her gaze reflecting a mixture of sadness and disappointment.
"Draven, Quer, Moland. Are you all okay? Are you alright?" Genevieve asked anxiously.
Draven, Quer, and Moland immediately turned to look at the visibly concerned Genevieve.
"Young lady, I'm fine," Draven replied confidently.
"I'm fine too, young lady," Quer added with a smile.
"Young lady Genevieve. I'm also fine. I'm okay," he answered calmly. Draven then looked at Genevieve with attentiveness.
"And how about you, Genevieve? Are you okay? Are you alright?" he asked with concern.
Genevieve looked at Draven with a sense of relief.
"I'm fine, Draven. I'm okay," Genevieve replied with a sense of relief.
She then smiled and thanked them.
"Thank you, all of you. Thank you for protecting me from Remy. Thank you for standing up for me against Remy," Genevieve said sincerely.
They smiled back at her and expressed their gratitude in return.
"You're welcome, young lady." They said in unison.
They exchanged smiles and looked at each other with a sense of camaraderie. They didn't realize that something had changed among them. They didn't realize that new seeds were beginning to grow in their hearts.
