Chapter 31 - New Home, sweet Home

"This is the house that you saw in the pictures" In walked a middle-aged woman, impeccably dressed and exuding an air of professionalism. Beside her was a portly man in a corporate suit, with a young woman in her late twenties hanging off his arm. The young woman was heavily made up and gave off an air of entitlement, as if she were a spoiled heiress.

"Darling, this is perfect! Let's buy it," the young woman declared in a haughty tone, her words dripping with privilege.

"Ok, get it done already, I don't have much time to waste," grunted the rotund man, his eyes glued to his wristwatch. The attendant flashed a polite grin and replied, "Absolutely, sir. The contract is primed and ready." As she retrieved the document, she caught sight of her colleague standing not far away. "What are you doing here? Take your clients elsewhere," she barked.

"M'am, this property has already been sold, and the contract has been signed," the young woman stammered as she pointed at Lin Chang.

"What? That's preposterous! This is my house, and I refuse to relinquish it to anyone. Bebe, you must purchase this for me at any cost," the heavily painted woman cooed, snuggling into her partner's arms.

"What kind of tomfoolery is this? We've already sealed the deal on this house," the man growled, his patience wearing thin.

"Excuse me, sir, but there seems to be a slight confusion. This exquisite property is, in fact, rightfully yours," the woman stated apologetically. She first briefly glanced at Lin Chang, momentarily taken aback by her beauty, but then shifted her attention to her attire which seemed to irk her and spoke with irritation, "Miss Biyu, although you have recently joined us, it is imperative that you understand that we cater to luxury, not rags. We only welcome those who possess the capability to purchase a home of this caliber," she spoke with a hint of annoyance in her tone.

Biyu stood there, unsure of how to respond to the woman's scolding.

Just then, a mellifluous yet icy voice echoed through the living room, "I have already signed the contract and am currently in the process of paying for this property. Therefore, there is no misunderstanding here."

As all eyes turned to Lin Chang, the atmosphere shifted. The big-bellied man, who had lived for 45 years without ever seeing someone as stunning as her, shamelessly gawked at her. The woman in his arms realized it and glared at Lin Chang and barked, "You didn't pay, so it's not yours yet. My Bebe will buy it for me right now."

The other attendant chimed in, "You should go back to your house, young girl. This is not a place for you to flaunt. Do you even know the cost of this house? It's a one hundred million yuan property. Do you dare to dream about it?" She crossed her arms, mocking Lin Chang.

But Lin Chang stood her ground. "Yes, I'm positive. I'm buying this house. You can get lost," she declared, ready to walk away.

Suddenly, an angry voice boomed behind her. The pot-bellied man, who had been enjoying the sight of Lin Chang and planning to make her his own, was now furious. "I dare you say that again," he growled.

In a stern tone, Lin Chang addressed the man, "I said I'm buying this property, you get lost,"

The man was getting more and more angry every passing moment, "How dare you, young lady? Do you not know who I am?"

Maintaining her composure, Lin Chang replied, "No, I don't"

The man's demeanor grew increasingly hostile, "You insolent girl! I will teach you a lesson today!" He advanced towards Lin Chang, "you want to buy this property? Ok I'll give you the chance, but only if you can pay for it right now, if not I'll make you pay for disrespecting me"

Lin Chang stood her ground, unfazed by the man's threats.

Lin Chang stood her ground, her eyes locked onto the man's. She could feel the heat of his anger radiating off of him, but she refused to back down. "I don't need your chance," she said, her voice steady and unwavering. "I have the means to buy this property, and I will do so without your interference."

The man's face twisted into a sneer. "You think you're so smart, don't you?" he spat. "Well, let me tell you something, little girl. You don't know who you're dealing with. I have power, I have influence, and I have money. You're nothing but a speck of dust in my world."

Lin Chang's eyes narrowed. "I may be young, but I am not naive," she said. "I know exactly who I'm dealing with. And I know that you're nothing but a bully who thinks he can intimidate his way to getting what he wants."

"Hey, stop yapping little girl! If you've got the cash, then buy this property right now and take on the challenge. But if not, let me tell you, you won't be enjoying a single day anymore," said the angry lady with way too much makeup on.

Lin Chang remained silent, observing the trio before her. If they wished to label this a challenge, so be it. With a steady hand, she took out her card and extended it to Biyu. "Make the payment," she instructed.

Biyu deftly took the card and input the necessary information into her phone before selecting the 'pay' option. The three onlookers sneered, anticipating Lin Chang's downfall. But then, a clear and resounding voice emanated from the device. "Payment successful."

The trio's expressions shifted from smugness to shock, realizing that they had underestimated Lin Chang's resolve. It took them a moment before they came back to their senses.

"Alright, get out of my place," Lin Chang said, shooing the intruders out like a pack of stray dogs.

"Listen up, young lady. Don't ever cross paths with me again, or I'll make sure you regret it," the man growled, clenching his teeth before storming out. Because deep down, he couldn't help but feel a twinge of uncertainty. The way she had casually spent millions of yuan was a clear indication of her immense wealth and power. It was best to retreat for now, and he wasn't the only one who thought so. Even his attendants and girlfriend scurried out of the house like rats fleeing a sinking ship.

Biyu beamed at the victorious girl, "Congratulations, madam."
