Chapter 2 - Chapter 1

The class was silent, and everyone was focused on what the teacher was feeding us until my phone started ringing loudly, which interrupted everyone's string of thoughts.

I tried to decline the phone call in a rush, but for some reason, it just wouldn't stop until it was too late for the teacher to leave it unnoticed.

"Caroline, get out! I am tired of dealing with kids like you." The math teacher coldly said.

I sighed knowing that I will regret leaving this session since exams are close, but it doesn't seem like I have much choice anyways.

I quickly left the classroom, not daring to look at anyone out of embarrassment, then with anger, I checked who called me in the middle of class when everyone knew I am at school.

-Missed phone call from Zane-

Oh god, I really regret the day I met this dude. It has only been going downhill ever since then.

I dialled the phone numbe,  and he immediately answered.

"How is sunshine doing?" He asked with a loud voice that pierced my ears.

"Do you know what time it is?" I asked him.

"It's time for us to go on our little adventure." He giggled.

God knows how much I hate his giggles.

"What adventure? No, it's time for my math class that you interrupted you moron." I shouted at the phone, hoping that maybe I was as loud as he is, but probably not.

"Listen! I apologize for the inconvenience, but you promised me last week that you would go on one of my adventures as you owe me remember?" He said, full with enthusiasm.

"Fine, let's just get this done with already." I said with remorse.

I closed the phone call and sighed out of comfort as I finally got to not hear his loud, wicked voice.

When Zane says adventure by that he means going somewhere and risking his life, like skydiving or bungee jumping and such activities.

And to my unfortunate self, he didn't mention where we are going, he only mentioned that it's a surprise.

I never agreed to go with him because I fear almost everything, I even sometimes fear to be around him, let alone go skydiving with him.

If I end up dead, I promise to haunt him as a ghost.

As I stepped out of school I was met with Zane's car, it was a worn out old car of his dad's, and his dad promised to pass it to him as he graduates, only because it was the only way to convince him to graduate in the first place.

Zane is not the academic type; obviously, even though his dad never wanted anything more than an academically successful son.

I, on the other hand, don't do much. Teenagers my age would describe me as someone that doesn't have a life, but I like it this way, I don't have many problems as all I have to do is study, not that studying is easy, but it's easier than Zane's adventures for sure.

"Guess where we are going sunshine?" He said with a smirk on his ugly face.

"I have been guessing for the last week." I said.

"I didn't know that you are that excited." He laughed.

"I am not, I have been guessing out of fear." I annoyingly said.

"Well, we are going to a haunted house." He said before driving quite fast with his car.

It's my fault for telling him once how much I hate ghosts.
