Quinn arrived at where the copper was coming from. He recognized this place as the edge of the fire where a lot of burnt ash still lingered.
Black sooty material surrounded Quinn. Although [Pheromone detection] could determine the general direction of the copper object, Quinn somehow couldn't find the object giving off copper.
Up became down, down became right, forward became left. Quinn was left disorientated. He stopped for a minute and analysed the directions. They really were distorted.
'Ahhh why is everything so dizzy'
Quinn thought about what could do this. Eventually, he remembered how his sense of direction is determined.
[Internal Compass]
'There must be a magnet.'
Quinn called his status.

Focus on [Internal Compass] Quinn tried various ways of turning it off.
[Internal Compass(Lvl:Max)[Passive]: Can feel the flow of magnetic energy to determine basic cardinal directions]
Quinn, after many trials and errors, worked out that by focusing on the passive, the skill turned grey. Although it's probably another color since Quinn can't see colors with the exception of [Mana Sense].
With no sense of direction, Quinn only had one direction. [Pheromone detection]. By following this, Quinn ended up in front of a copper string.

'Now how do I "extract" the copper... EXTRACT!!!... ABSORB!!!... AHHG what the heck is anything easy?' Quinn, like always, wanted the easy way out.
Quinn tried all sorts of methods with the status screens. Opening up Copper fangs. Appraising with more senses;
[Appraisal:
Name: Copper pendant of lesser protection
Tier: II
Description(Basic):Casts a lesser barrier on the wearer]
'Let's try [Mana Sense]' Quinn often tries to avoid using [Mana Sense] since its hard to activate. Quinn cleared his mind. Envisioned the mana particles he remembers. The opacity of the hidden world unveiled. He fell asleep...
Quinn didn't know how to activate [Mana Sense] for two reasons;
1-Skills have Cues
2- Quinn's lack of repetition
For example lets compare [Mana Sense] to human's basic sense of smell. Children have trouble blowing their nose since they don't have the muscle memory to only breath out through their nose. However through repetition it becomes automatic to breath in through the nose when smelling something.
But only psychopaths go around sniffing everything. The cue for sniffing something is either an getting an accidental whiff of something or observing something that usually smells good. eg flowers or food. In Quinn's case, he lacked the cue and the repetition.
When Quinn awoke he decided that possibly eating the pendant would be the last resort before giving up. Digging his mouth into the pendant he noticed something.
'This shit is harder than a rock' Quinn tested his fangs on a rock before and found out that his fangs can damaged a rock. but not even scratch the pendant.
'Isn't copper a weak and malleable... wait doesn't that mean my fangs are weak and malleable??? but they aren't? Witch means my fangs are either magical or a mineral of copper. They are definitely magical!!!'
They were in fact a "unique copper teeth made up of a mixture of protein, melanin and 10% copper. This copper concentration is the highest among any animal." - Wikipedia. As for the pedant it says it in the description. Barrier magic.
And sinking his teeth into the barrier is all the cue he needed.
[[Mana Sense] Activated]
Copper coloured light solidified into a simple vortex. The mana particles were... well not there. Instead an uncertainty. Like the vortex only existed on the continuous probability it was where it was.
Every single moment was a different instance, a different position of the barrier. But thr probability was skewed. Quinn's teeth were being repeled. The barriers probability conflicted with Quinn's probability to skew the vortex.
Until copper mana particles leaked from Quinn's teeth. The vortex surged with power.
'Ofc it has to be hard. Why must it be hard? This is my road to OP.'
Nevertheless [[Copper fangs] Activated]
