Quinn didn't know why he couldn't move. It was like his body just disconnected with his brain. Like his body knew something he didn't.
Cold sweat ran down as worm body, and it finally kicked in. Quinn was afraid.
Fear like nothing else. He didn't dare to move. Well, he couldn't anyway.
But he did dare to activate [Pheromone detection]. He noticed a few worms around.
But more importantly, blood. The ground boomed with vibrations. And shouts.
Quinn could feel the death, the chaos.
[ [Mana Sense] Activated]
Torrents of black nothingness danced around a sparse sea of brown. Specs of green consumed the black.
The shades of green were inconsistent, some darker, and others much lighter.
Quinn was horrified by this blackness. He felt as if one touched him it would all be over.
Minutes passed, and Quinn realized that the other worms were moving, but he did not dare. Until a black particle passed through his body.
He shuddered before building up the courage to move.
'I-Is it safe. I'm just a worm, right? No one should hurt me'
Quinn decided to investigate more by ravaging near the surface. He checked his stats and noticed he's fully regained his stats and length before starting to dig.
'These colours are beautiful.'
Quinn hadn't realized how much he missed seeing colours. The constant black, white, and grey was getting boring. So these were a delight.
Their movement felt intriguing. The way they reacted to each other displayed order. Like magic is just another branch of science. The 5th fundamental force.
But sadly, the colours faded away. And Quinn was left lost. Still bewildered and the sight he had witnessed.
But he couldn't focus on that now. Quinn had to find out what was happening.
THUD!
The entire ground shook, and the faint penetrate light from above disappeared.
Something was above him.
Quinn wavered for a bit before proceeding. Finding himself in a strange liquid, he found himself absorbing it.
It started feeling warmer. But the distances didn't add up.
'Shouldn't I have surfaced by now?'
Activating [Appraisal], Quinn was shocked.
[Appraisal:
Name:Guymar, Le Chacal
Species: Human(Lvl56)
Strength:41]
Besides the first time seeing a name or a human. Quinn was more shocked at the level.
Due to the chaos of his surroundings, Quinn concluded that he was in the midst of a battle. These soldiers could easily kill him. Compared to him, these guys are practically gods. Like a battle of relative gods.
And now he finds himself inside one.
'Tch no, I'm not gonna become a tape worm. But it's worth a taste, right? I'm technically not a cannibal if I eat this guy.
Why am I thinking about eating this guy?'
Quinn weighed up the options of morals and rewards. He concluded that morals are obsolete for a worm. Especially one as interesting as him.
So he ate.
It burned. But there seemed to be a disconnect between Quinn and his body because his body kept going.
'Stop, stop, stop. It hurts ahhh why.'
But it was only a mere sting. After the first few bites, his body stopped.

It was agonizing. Pain would spike after immediately being released. And finally.

[Evolution available]
The pain left. And Quinn was left to reflect. He was in no environment to test his luck with evolution just yet. It seemed that it would be a painful process for a desired outcome.
'No pain, no gain. I guess pain is a necessity in life. It's always been there. Like a little fucking bitch. Why does pain gotta stop me!!'
Quinn kept going only interrupted by the land shaking a few times. To then be ultimately fear struck with a system window.
[[Blood] factor has been acquired]
'Blood what??? I guess this is something for evolution. Wait, noooooo'
Quinn was lost when it came to the 'evolution tree' as he called it(It is actually called that. lucky guess, I guess).
He didn't know what branch he had to go on. And if branches require a 'factor' to unlock, then Quinn would need to get those. But what 'factors' and how he would obtain these made Quinn's quest impossible.
Not because it was impossible. But because it was currently only possible through luck.
But now Quinn was full. The chaos crumbled down to a halt. This was his sign to leave.
Unluckily, his [Internal Compass] started going haywire. Guymar was picked up. And Quinn was inside.
