As Reinhart and Aldren approached the stone wall marking the border to Carlyon, they spotted the guards positioned at the top. Aldren paused for a moment, a reflective look overtaking his face and his golden eyes shining under the protective shadow of his sturdy helmet.
"Do you remember when we first traveled to Grin'nix?" Aldren asked, a somber tone seeping into his voice.
Reinhart mirrored his contemplative expression. "When this ordeal first began, I never thought we would have imagine were life would take us."
"I am sure that you will see all this world has to offer," Aldren stated, shaking his head.
Before more words were shared, a guard's booming voice cut through the heavy silence. "Halt! Announce yourselves!"
Reinhart and Aldren exchanged a look before the latter called back, "Aldren Cru'Shen, from the Dralkon clan, and Rei--."
