Chapter 20 - Unspoken Emotions

"Ugh, where am I?" Haruka woke up on a bed and saw an unknown ceiling. She was exhausted and felt like a lump of meat lying on a kitchen table. The bed was comfortable and surprisingly big.

She slowly got to her feet and then looked at a door where a young maid was standing in the doorway.

When the maid realized that Haruka was looking at her, she ran out in a hurry and said, "Young master, Lady Morgana, she's woken up!"

The maid ran around screaming across the yard. A short time later, she saw Thanatos and Morgana sprinting towards her. When they reached her, she stopped briefly, explained what had happened to them, and then left everything to them. As she was about to go further to inform Thanato's parents, she saw Camilla scurrying after them.

Thanatos and Morgana hurried inside, and Camilla waited on the outside. She wanted to hear the conversation; she wasn't that well informed about her. Thanatos has been busy for the past few days writing his report on what happened on the mission and how it ended. Everything he experienced and did during this time cannot be summed up in 350 words.

"Looks like you woke up; how are you?" Thanatos was the first to speak, and Morgana wanted to say something but closed her mouth.

Haruka looked the two in the eyes and tried to remember what happened. She strained her brain and then remembered what had happened. She looked down at her bedspread with sad eyes and whispered, "Am I one now?", Yes, you are. Unfortunately, we couldn't save you; I'm terribly sorry."

Thanatos figured it was best if she knew directly; keeping it from her would only cause more pain. Still, he felt guilty. He couldn't help but bow and apologize.

"Don't apologize; you did your best, and could you please tell me where I am?" Morgana didn't expect that she would be so clam; she looked more like she was flustered from all that when she got turned into a grim reaper back then. She was different; she ticked out, screamed, and cried for days. She admired her for being so strong.

"Right now you are by me at home; this is usually a guest bedroom. If you need anything, then wait a minute. Why are you blushing now? Are these still the aftermath of the transformation?" Thanatos was right in the moment to go out and bring the physcian again when she heard Haruka's flustered voice: No, this is just the first time that I am at a men's house, so, ahm, what I mean is."

BAMMM

Everybody turned around and saw a shadow hurling away; the shadow they saw was Camilla, of course. In just a few days, Thanatos brought two outstanding beauties home; yes, one was his partner for missions, and the other was the result of the mission, but she was still envious. Camilla was afraid that she was too beautiful to be in a league of her own, but when she saw how he talked to the two of them, her entire being was filled with envy. Before Morgana and Haruka came, the only two women with outstanding beauty in this estate, she was Thanato's mother, and she would now clearly not become her mother. She loved her son, but in the end, she was still the head of healing for Thanato's father. 'Maybe I should play sick and let me be cured by Thanatos.'

Hey, what happened to that mother fucker, Hideo?" Morgana turned in disbelief towards Haruka and asked herself if that person in front of her was the same girl that just now got flustered because she was at a man's house.

"Can you walk? If so, come and see for yourself. My mother tied him up in the basement and just interrogated him a little." Haruka nodded and ruffled herself up. Thanatos waited a little bit in order to see if she was in the right condition to walk or not. After seeing that she stood straight with no problem, he walked out and led the way. Morana came with both of them.

"Wait a minute, why are we leaving your house? I thought we had to go to the basement."

Haruka had no idea what grim reapers meant by a cellar, but with her knowledge as a former human being, she knew that if you wanted to go to the cellar, you had to go through a door in the house and not through a huge white space in front of your house.

"Why are you asking? This is my backyard; the building over there is for guests; my house is over there."

'This fucking rich kid, this backyard of yours could be marked on a map. I saw a fucking forest when I walked here.' In this moment, Morgana decided that she would never pay something with her money when the two of them were going out on a mission.

Morgana and Haruka walked next to each other and looked at each other with an expression that only led to one conclusion. They walked and walked, and then they saw a huge building so big that no king of yesteryear could have afforded to build it. Morgana looked at Thanatos again, and the closer they got to the building, the stranger Thanatos looked at her.

They entered the building, walked through a door, and walked down the stairs. When they got to the bottom of the stairs, they saw a huge steel door. Thanatos opened it with a lot of force and held it open for the other two to pass through. When they were through, Thanatos closed the door. They saw a small room and a sight that resembled a horror film. Hideo was clutched in huge gray arms, and Helene sat elegantly in a chair to the side.

The huge gray arms clumped every single part of Hideo's body; the only thing that was free was his mouth.

"Oh, good evening, ladies, and Thanatos. If you want, you can ask him what you want, and I will make sure that he answers all of your questions." The arms began to move, and they clutched Hideo tighter; it looked as if they tried to crush his limbs. None of those present felt anything when they saw him like this. Especially not Morgana and Haruka.

Haruka asked if she could reveal his face; she wanted him to see her. Helene did as Haruka wanted, and Hideo could finally see again. He was in his normal state, but his body was covered in wounds. Helene caused him to be injured so badly that he was forced to disable his death arts. Haruka had no idea what she did with him, but after seeing the wipe she tried to hide behind her back, she could imagine what he went through.

"You deserved this scum!" Haruka screamed at Hideo; her voice was so loud that Hideo wanted to cover his ears, but the gray arms refused to let him do what he wanted.

"But why? You said you would help me. You know that my clan was nearly wiped out. The only members of my clan are me, my father, my younger brother, and a few others in general. You said that you would help me. Why don't you understand my situation?"

He talked to Haruka about this, and she said that she would help him. She said that she was her only friend and that she would help her as best she could. She said she would always help her first love.

Hideo, you don't understand; she is the one who understood your situation the best. She was the only one of the Kudo bloodline left. She possessed the powers of an exorcist, and she was proud of this. About herself and her powers. But you took that away from her. When you turned her into a grim reaper."

Thanatos didn't know Haruka well, but he knew one thing that Haruka's master told them about her. Being an ersorcist and a kudo made her proud, and training these powers was her greatest joy.

"I guess you don't know what it means to change races; your former self, the human Haruka Kudo, was destroyed and reborn, and something can only be reborn once it dies." In short, you killed the last member of the Kudo's with your own hands." Once a little girl died, a girl named Morgana was born. The girl she was back then died at the age of seven, and the grim reaper Morgana was born. She knew exactly what she was talking about. Switching races wasn't something this uncommon. Vampires turn humans into vampires all the time. But the fact stays the same: the human dies and a new universe is born.

"Do you understand now? Why did you take this away from me, Hideo? I trusted you, so tell me why!" Haruka pulled on Hideo's collar and pulled him toward her. Their foreheads collided, but Haruka ignored the pain. She looked him in the eyes and slowly began to cry; her tears got more intense and her sobs grew louder.

"And Taro too; you killed the things that were precious to me. Why did you kill me? Tell me. Why did you do it?"

Haruka's grim eyes woke her, and she fell to the floor. She rolled herself together, hugged her knees, and cried out loud in front of everyone.

Thanatos slowly walked towards her, hugged her from behind, and lifted her up. " Haruka I have some good news for you. Taro is alive.

"Huh? Wait, what? But I saw how he collapsed on the ground and lay bloodied in front of me in the red circle. I saw his dead body." Haruka didn't believe that; she had no need for lies like this. She wanted the truth, even if that meant that she had to see Taros dead body again.

Wait, he was in the circle. That's the reason he survived." Morgana finally understood it. "Listen Haruka Everything that was inside that circle was supposed to become a grim reaper. Which means he broke through the barrier and survived. You really have a good dog." Morgana stroked Haruka's cheek; slowly, Haruka's tears disappeared, and a huge smile grew on her face.

"That's good, and you are right; he really is the best." Haruka smiled and cried at the same time. Thanatos saw that she was better now and let her down. Haruka was so happy that she didn't even notice that Thanatos lifted her up. She just stood up and wanted to see Taro again.
