After not having to introduce themselves, the twins went back to their sister who was their safe haven in the chaos of children.
"Can you make it more detailed?" Aroura asked Jason with curiosity.
"Well I don't have any pictures of this creature, instead I used what little descriptions I received to make it..." Jason looked a little embarrassed as he explained the crude image he whittled.
"OOHH! If you are making it from the descriptions you got can you make anything?"
"Ugghh- I guess so? I have never tried..."
"Wait here!" Aroura spoke excitedly as she quickly ran away.
The twins who were about to speak with their sister suddenly were left alone with Jason.
"Ugghh... Hello again Jason." Despite the slight awkwardness in his voice, Ambrose still spoke clearly. After all, he had to introduce himself around fifty times.
"Hello Jason." Lily also spoke with no nervousness in her voice.
"Ummmm... Well... Helloo..." Jason stayed the same as he nervously spoke.
"Why don't you tell us more about your whittling and we will explain why we like plants?" Lily spoke with a smile that seemed to soften Jason's expression.
"Sure! I make small sculptures- and- and- it feels like- really good! To- to see what you made become something else entirely!"
Jason quickly told his every reason that he absolutely adored whittling. And every reason he did it.
Ambrose spoke in turn about his love for farming. As he used similar words as Jason, the boys soon understood what each other liked about the subject. Lily then followed suit and spoke about creating a plant so different from its' original form. Then making that plant bloom into something that would help people.
As the group started to warm up to one another, Aroura came back with another block of wood. Jason didn't fret about not talking more to the twins, instead he focused all his attention to listening to what Aroura wanted him to make.
Seeing their sister get so well with Jason, the twins left them be as they instead went to eat at the large table. Unfortunately, they were the kids of the hour and attracted more attention.
"HEY!" Lorena spoke while waving at them. "Come over here!" Exaggeratedly moving her arm, Lorena kept trying to get them to come over. Despite being surrounded by so many children, Lorena seemed to not care as she hoped to get more company.
Lorena was quite nice to them, so not wanting to ignore her, the twins walked over saying their hello's.
"Why are you acting like we didn't just introduce ourselves to each other a little while ago?" She spoke very casually as if they had been good friends for years.
"Sorry, we were just passing by hoping to eat." Lily spoke up hoping to end the conversation to eat her favorite mushrooms.
"Oh come now eating can wait, why don't you talk a bit longer." Acting like a needy child, Lorena quickly convinced the twins to stay a bit longer.
"Alright, we can talk a bit more, but I need more puffball mushrooms in my soup after!" Ambrose spoke with an expression that showed he was practically drooling at the prospect of food.
"Puffball mushrooms? What is that?" One of the kids spoke up asking them what was up. He was actually one of the children the twins recognized as had given an explanation on his name. Otheman, or Oath as he preferred."
"Yeah!" Several other children looked at Ambrose in curiosity.
Seeing everyone coming so close, Ambrose felt his nervousness return, "Well... Umm... It is the white meaty item in the soup."
"OHHH!" Many spoke at the same time looking like they now understood everything.
A girl named Brie rubbed her stomach as she spoke aloud, "It was so filling! Where do you buy it?"
"BUY????!" Lily seemed offended at the word 'buy' and quickly spoke up, "We make it! My brother here made the farm design himself and I helped the chances of propagation of the mushrooms!"
Lily spoke while puffing up her chest to show how proud she was, the other children looked at her in wonder. Ambrose also followed as he puffed out his own chest.
Lorena spoke up with a confused expression, "If you grow it, why don't you sell it?"
Ambrose looked slightly sad as he explained, "Well I am struggling to make them propagate more, so if we sell it will only be a few mushrooms at a time. That said the hardest part is having other people buy it. My dad has tried several times to put it up for sale, but it simply looks too weird for people!"
Lily joined her brother as she sighed sadly, "Yes, unfortunately, everyone thinks of mushrooms as either poisonous or medicinal or magical. They never considered that a simple mushroom could act just like any other crop."
The other kids seemingly affected by the twin's sadness and quickly started trying their best to cheer them up saying their own words of encouragement.
"It's okay."
"You are doing great."
"I'm sure people will understand."
"I'll tell my mom to buy your mushrooms all the time!"
"What does pro-propu'gate mean?"
"What is good about it? It just took the flavor of the soup?"
Well, most kids...
After being forced to talk to everyone, the twins no longer showed much nervousness as they talked about different interests with the kids for the next hour. Only after the sounds of their growling stomachs did they say goodbye and head to eat.
Strangely someone followed the twins, and it wasn't the ever talkative Lorena. Curiously it was Oath.
Following them he also got another bowl of soup and sat right across from them at the table.
"Oath, are you going to eat too?"
"Yes..." Oath spoke hesitantly. "Well, that isn't the only reason."
Glancing at each other the twins talked with their eyes for a moment before they looked back at Oath with all their attention.
"What is it?"
