Chapter 3 - Chapter 2

Chapter 2: Level Up!

...Am I really going to be unemployed?

Even if I'm feeling down, the situation isn't going to change.

My immediate goal is to go to a town or village.

If I believe what Erine said, the city called "Zeke" is about 100 kilometers away.

I'll gather information on this world "Exis" in a town or village before that.

And then, I'll level up and learn skills as much as possible.

First, using "Omniscience and Omnipotence," I'll confirm information about this place and nearby towns and villages.

This forest is called the "Forest of Confusion," and multiple demons inhabit it. The magical power that confuses the sense of direction is abundant, making it difficult for survivors to return.

I discovered that there is a village called "Gondo" located ten kilometers to the southeast.

During the rising of the sun, it is necessary to secure a safe place for living.

And establish a method of combat.

Considering my current level, there are hardly any monsters that can be defeated with bare hands.

The only items available are "five poison potions" and "five paralysis potions" received from the foolish goddess.

Normally, I would think there would be "recovery potions" and "antidote potions," but is that woman really trying to kill me, including the matter with the transfer location?

Does she really intend to carry out a "missionary activity"?

While keeping an eye out for the presence of monsters, I made my way to the river's edge.

I picked up a sharp stone I found along the way and wrapped it in a vine-like plant that I picked up while walking, creating an impromptu spear.

As soon as I finished making it, a sound rang in my head.

It seems that I have leveled up.

Upon checking [Omniscient and Omnipotent], I have aptitude for all attributes, so it seems that leveling up will be easy no matter what I do.

I see! It's completely a cheat ability to level up just by living normally.

Also, I get twice as much learning value correction, so if I just consider that, being unemployed isn't so bad.

For now, I've decided to stop fighting monsters and focus on making weapons and improving my status.

When I level up, the distributable values are displayed.

Once I allocate my status and skills, I can't change them, but it seems I can allocate them later if I have stockpiled them.

After that, I picked up stones that seemed to be weapons on the riverbed, gathered vines and tree branches in the forest, and walked around looking for a place that could become a base.

I found a place where there was a hole in the rock face that was narrow enough for one person to enter a little upstream of the river, so I decided to sleep here tonight and make weapons.

I sorted through the nuts I had picked up, making sure to check with Omniscient and Omnipotent to ensure they were safe to eat. The last thing I wanted was to die from poison!

The nuts didn't fill me up, but they were better than going hungry.

As the sun began to set, I suddenly realized that I had forgotten something important... I had no fire.

I remembered that in my past life, monsters and animals disliked fire, but what about in this world called Exis?

I wanted a fire because it was better than nothing, but I didn't have any tools to start one.

If I didn't figure something out soon, I might not make it until morning.

I opened my status and checked my skill value for making a wooden spear, then added some skill points to the Fireball attribute.

I am now able to create a ball of fire about the size of a golf ball in my palm. It's pretty handy, but I'm not sure yet if it's useful for battle.

I gathered firewood that would not go out even during the night. The sun had already completely set, so I decided to rest a little in this hole while praying for a safe night.

Although having a fire provides no guarantee of safety, I wonder if I can sleep peacefully...
