Chapter 4 - Chapter 3

Chapter 3: First Demon Beast Subjugation!

...Morning arrived.

I'm glad I didn't die.

I was tired, but I could hardly sleep because I was afraid the fire would go out.

Last night, I noticed that there was a big four-leaf clover embroidery on the back of my clothes.

It's like a walking advertisement.

Evangelism activities certainly need advertising effects, and it can't be helped since it was my idea.

For now, I decided to take actions that stand out and attract attention to make a name for myself.

Today, I decided to focus on skill enhancement with [Fireball].

Last night, just activating [Fireball] once made my head spin.

It must have been the recoil from consuming two-thirds of my "MP".

For the time being, I decided to allocate my stats mainly to "Agility" and "MP".

Ironically, I used to like frontline warriors and martial artists in my past life's game, but now I have to allocate my skills like a magic profession, but there is no other way to survive.

In my current state, it's dangerous for me to enter the forest and advance to the depths.

I secured some nuts up to about 500 meters from the base.

While exploring, I tried to avoid what I thought was a puddle, but suddenly the puddle attacked me.

"This is a slime!"

Although it was an image from a past life, I imagined a certain game's onion-shaped creature.

Despite its different appearance, it was a classic monster that appears in the early stages of the game.

There was no way I couldn't defeat it.

I tried to poke it with a spear, but it seemed to cause no damage.

If I kept this up, I would only lose my stamina.

...There must be some way to defeat it.

Upon closer inspection, I noticed a small object about ten centimeters inside the body.

Could this be the "core nucleus"?

When I attacked the object that seemed like the "core nucleus," the slime stopped moving.

After checking with [Omniscient and Omnipotent], I found out that the defeated monster didn't disappear, but remained as a corpse.

After discovering that adventurers were collecting "Core Nuclei" and selling corpses, I spent some time collecting the nuclei, but my uncertainty made the task difficult.

Once I had gathered them, I found my hands covered in goo, and my morale was low. In need of a break, I decided to return to my base and wash my hands in the nearby river. While doing so, I noticed some fish swimming in the distance.

I waded into the water, hoping to catch some fish for dinner. Suddenly, a dark shadow appeared, and I realized it could be a monster. I quickly retreated to the shore, but a large fish-shaped creature leaped out of the water behind me. If I had noticed a moment later, it would have attacked and likely killed me.

This encounter reminded me that danger could lurk anywhere in this world. I must remain vigilant and not forget the potential risks of this new environment. Holding onto my past life's awareness will not be sufficient for survival.

If the water depth was up to around knee-high, I thought it would be safe since I could visually confirm it and quickly return to the shore. So, I arranged the stones in a U-shape and tried to catch fish by driving them into it.

I caught several small fish, but I released the ones that were too small to eat.

It's a little bit of protein, which is a happy thing.

Although it's only the second day, I feel like I'm gradually getting used to this world.
