Volume 6, Chapter 7: Shura
"It seems the wyverns are getting tired, as expected," Princess Miyabi sighed as she observed the wyverns.
"Shall we let them land somewhere to rest?" I suggested.
"Wait, I think that's about to come out," Aoi looked concerned.
She had a wary expression.
"Is there something else?" I asked anxiously.
"It's Shura," Murasaki asserted.
"Shura? What's that?" I couldn't quite understand.
"If I were to put it simply, it's an evolved form of a powerful bird of prey," Murasaki replied, her voice trembling.
"Oh, Shura can be quite dangerous, even to guys who are into crossdressing. They lose all restraint," Aoi said, looking at the trembling Murasaki.
"What the heck! What's going on!" Apolito couldn't contain himself anymore and shouted.
Since a while ago, he had been whispering "Yamato is scary, Yamato is scary" under his breath.
Is he starting to lose it?
Troubling.
"In other words, Shura refers to powerful bird of prey that haven't yet reached their mating age. Typically, they always achieve their goals. That's why they're called 'bird of prey.' However, occasionally, an unfortunate one among them fails to find a mate before reaching the right age. With their acquired skills and greed, they become formidable opponents. That's Shura," Aoi calmly explained.
Hmm.
Some women might get angry hearing that.
At that moment, something emerged from the valley below the mountain.
A massive serpent-like monster with eight heads appeared.
"No way, Yamata no Orochi?" Princess Miyabi exclaimed.
"W-What's that? What's that?" Apolito was on edge.
"Finally, she's here. The unparalleled Lady Rui among the Shura," Aoi announced, standing on the wyvern's back.
Atop one of Yamata no Orochi's eight heads stood a beautiful woman. She wore a sleek leather armor that accentuated her figure, revealing the upper part of her bust with a sensual design.
It's hard to describe, but she's incredibly bewitching.
"Oh my, Aoi, is that you? It's been a while. Are you well? It seems you haven't made a move on Yuuki yet," Lady Rui smiled at Aoi.
"I intend to have Yuuki-sama choose me properly. I won't be forceful," Aoi replied.
"Hehehe, I used to think the same way. You're quite similar to me," Lady Rui chuckled nostalgically.
Huh? What should I say?
"Anyway, what's that monster?" I pointed at Yamata no Orochi.
"That's Yamata no Orochi, whom Lady Rui adores. I hear it appears in Japanese mythology as well," Princess Miyabi answered.
"Adores? What does that mean?"
"Oh, are you Yuuki? You're Shuji's son, aren't you? You resemble him," Lady Rui called out to me.
"Yes," I answered.
"You're right, Yuuki. Love is a serious battle," Lady Rui responded.
Something feels off.
I can't keep up.
"Huh? Is it not allowed for a nephew and aunt to be together?" I asked Lady Rui.
"Hehehe, love conquers obstacles," she said.
What's that? She's really lost it.
"Yuuki-sama! Run! The recent conversation was just to confirm who you are to Lady Rui-sama!" Aoi yelled.
"Huh? Run? Where to?" I twisted my neck on the back of the large wyvern.
Aoi swiftly pushed me off, and I nearly fell. The wyvern's mouth caught me just in time as I fell, grabbing me on its back.
"Are you alright, brother?" Apolito got up and shouted.
Then, from high above, a woman clad in similarly sleek leather armor, emphasizing her figure, skydived down and caught Apolito. She held him tightly and dove further down while still holding him, with the speed of an eagle's front legs and a lion's hind legs, and wings like a bat on her back.
"Oh my, she got away," Lady Rui chuckled.
"That's Hitomi-sama! She flies like a shooting star! And that must be Auntie Ai!" Princess Miyabi shouted.
Chasing after the falling Hitomi-sama and Apolito, a dragon with wings resembling those of a bat, front legs like an eagle, and hind legs like a lion, dived down from the distant sky. A woman in similarly sensuous leather armor was riding the dragon.
"That's Lindblum, soaring like a meteor! And that must be Auntie Ai!" Mitsuki also shouted.
In the meantime, the large wyvern had bitten onto my collar and returned me to its back.
"Huh? With so many monsters around, if Lady Rui and the others had fought during Alexia's time, wouldn't they have won easily?" I asked.
"Women, you see. They only get serious about love," Lady Rui replied with a smile towards us.
